She sleeps all day and will get a little energy at about 8 P.M. , then she crashes. It was cute at first but now I am nervous she is sicker than I thought, as her kennel cough has not let up in the week that we have had her(very rough coarse coughs all day particualry when she wakes up from napping). This may be normal and I may just be a worried puppy owner, but better safe than sorry. Plus 3 months seems a little older than the other puppies that have been asked about in the past (they were only a few weeks old) that were sleeping all day.

She has been to the vet, and is on her second round of anti-biotics. I am new to puppies not an idiot (j/k)

Hi there i have a lab puppy of four months and when i first got him he was sleeping all day which was great! (got him at 8 weeks) and i was a bit concerned but the vet said this was normal. He then started to gain more energy through the weeks and now has about one kip a day then sleeps the whole night through.
Seeing as yours is three months and has been struck with kennel cough i would go back to your vet to check him over. More for peace of mind than anything - as puppies are babies remember they need lots of sleep as they are growing so fast!!
good luck and happy training!!
(it's how you stop 'em snoring thats the problem!!)

At 3 months old, your puggle is still a baby and will sleep a lot. And if she's sick, she'll sleep even more - just like humans. I'm assuming you've taken her to the Vet to be treated for her kennel cough? If not, you need to get there quickly. My Papillon Misha contracted it several years ago from my daughter's new puppy and it was a LONG recovery - took 3 rounds of antibiotics to cure her.

Don't wait - get her to the Vet NOW!

I agree with Missy. You need to take the dog to a vet. The sellers should never have given you a sick dog anyway. It sounds like she may have come from a puppy mill and, in that case, the breeders don't care what condition she is in when she is sold.
Take her to a vet immediately. She needs to be started on medication and medical care. I don't know much about Kennel Cough but she sounds so depressed that I believe it may be serious.
Good luck!

No, it's not okay. Sounds like a very sick puppy and it could be a lot more than kennel cough. Take her to a vet post haste. Even if it is "only" kennel cough, she needs a vet--puppies that young are fragile. Make sure she is getting good nutrition and lots of fluids. Good luck!

I JUST GOT A 9 WEEK OLD PUGGLE 7/20/06 FROM A PET SHOP. HE CAME DOWN WITH KENNEL COUGH MONDAY. I TOOK HIM TO THE VET AND THEY GAVE ME COUGH MED. FOR HIM AND ANTIBIOTICS. HE TAKES THE ANTIBIOTICS EVERY MORNING AND THE COUGH MED. ABOUT 2-3 TIMES A DAY. I NOTICED TODAY HE WAS GETTING A LITTLE BETTER AND HIS COUGH ISN'T THAT BAD. HE SLEEPS A LOT AND THE VET SAID THATS NORMAL FOR PUPS. ALL LONG AS YOUR DOG IS EATING GOOD AND DRINKING A LOT OF WATER IT SHOULD BE FINE. MY DOG SLEEPS A LOT BUT IS VERY ACTIVE WHEN HE IS UP. LIKE I SAID.. MAKE SURE SHE IS EATING WELL AND DRINKING WATER...

Kennel cough can cause pneumonia and no doubt kill a puppy if this happens. If you're not happy with the way your puppy is acting take it to the vet

You said nothing about the pup going to a vet. That would be the best thing to do.

I would take her to the local vet.
Petsmart is a option.
