Reply to s_an_dubois: Yes the Yule log and the Chritmas tree both the same thing, Santa is often depicted carrying a small tree...He is really the spirit of goodwill so even though he is repackaged as the spirit of shopping today I would still choose Santa.

As a pagan I celebrate Yule on the solstice, but many of my family celebrate Christmas.
I take Santa… when Jesus was born the star of Bethlehem was noticeable (that would be some time in the spring of fall, not in the mid of winter…
Jesus wasn’t born on Christmas; it was an arbitrary day the church decided on (probably because they couldn’t stop pagans from celebrating Yule on the solstice.)
Where do you think they got the tree from…

Having been alone on many December 25ths because Christmas Eve is the end of the commercial Christmas, I revel in knowing I can celebrate the 12 days of Christmas in relative peace and solitude.

I'm atheist, and I still celebrate Christmas. I do so for the happiness, and family (and of course presents) part of it, not the religious part. And some people don't do anything for christmas, they treat it like any other day.

i'd stick with jesus...he is there every day...santa is only there on christmas
