No one really knows...but there are clues in the Bible if you just look for them. Look in Luke for example...Luke 2: 8: "And there were shepherds living out in the fields near by, keeping watch over their flocks at night."
In Palestine - as in the rest of the Middle East at the time - shepherds stayed with their flocks in the fields only from Spring to Autumn. They brought their sheep in during the winter to protect them from the cold and rain. It is thus unlikely that the shepherds went to Bethlehem in December.

The Bible tells us exactly when he died Nissan 14 by the ancient Hebrew calendar. The night of Passover. It also says he was 33 1/2 years old so go back or forward 6 months and you have the months of late September thru October depending on when Nissan falls each year. Since the bible does not give a specific day it is usually accepted to be the fall.
One thing is for certain. December is not the date. The flocks in the field are a great clue in the details relating his birth. Flocks were not pastured in deep winter in that area due to the bitter cold. December was chosen centuries late by priests trying to convert pagans to Christianity by incorporating their feast of Saturnalia the Sun God and transpose it onto Jesus the Son of God.

Nobody knows for sure... and some aren't even sure that there really was a single man known as Jesus. Some scholars actually believe that the Jesus story is a compilation of many separate stories. He may not even have a birthday.

Jesus was born in the one of the fall months,October I believe, if you look, December in Jerusalem is much to cold and rainy for shepherds to be out in the fields at night with their flocks which the Bible states they were. December 25th was chosen by the Catholic church, it coencided with the winter solstice. They were trying to bring in the pagens but instead contaminated Christianity. God always gives a day and month for anything he wants observed, he didn't give a date for his birth because we are not suppose to observe it, but the Bible gives a date for Christ's memorial and death because we are to observe that. His death is what brings salvation not his birth.

The Bible never really tells the exact day when Jesus was born. Some verses in the Bible say that he was born before 4 BCE and other verses in the Bible say he was born after 6 CE, but that's it.

It took more than one of our "solar days" to bring about the birth of the Word of God. The virgin daughter of Israel (those who had not known the doctrine of man) spent many years recording the Word of God in a "fleshly" form (recorded in a material form). Thus there is no one single day as a birthday.
