If someone is told that they have a negative omen surrounding them does that mean that something bad things are going to happen until it's gone.
If so how do you get rid of it?

It's a sign that something bad is going to happen--a bad-luck sign. Examples are, a black cat crossing your path (never bothered me, but some people freak out about it) an owl hooting outside your house (in some cultures--again, it's not something that scares me because I don't mind owls), or a bird coming very close to your house or inside it (I guess because of the birds being psychopomps idea--they've come to take your soul! Bwah-ha-ha! Or the "little bird told me" idea--they've come to bring bad news.)

Oh, man, I read that Superstitions book by, is it Zohar? Starts with a Z. That book was messed up--every time I read it, I would get more and more nervous because it had all these signs and omens about all these common everyday objects, like shoes, windows, doorways, cats, mirrors, dogs...everywhere I turned, there was another superstition. Aaaaggghhh! I had to get rid of the book. So if you want some examples of bad omens, you can try that book, but only if you want to see bad luck at every turn. I wouldn't recommend it unless you just don't have enough anxiety in your life and need to freak out more.

It´s an omen that something bad will happen. Like when the doorbell rings and it´s a herd of locusts.
Or maybe it´s the atomic opposite of a positive omen, and positive omen and a negative omen destroy eachother with an explosion. Be safe and don´t mix omens yourself - you might take out the whole block.

The opposite of a positive omen. A forecast that something bad is going to happen. A warning.

Something like the superstition of a crow landing on your windowsill and pecking at the glass. According to folklore, this omen portends that someone in that house will die soon.

Like seeing a big storm cloud roll in. You know it might downpour and you probably forgot your umbrella.
