My Sorority sister's cat just had kittens and she said I could have one as soon as they are strong enough to leave their mother. I am very excited but I wanna know what the beginning costs would be like.

Your local SPCA should have information on low-cost spay.neuter clinics. They have shot clinics too. Probably under 200 bucks.

It depends on where you go- a basic visit just to See a vet is AT least 25-35 dollars, shots are usually 15-40, front declaw is gonna be 60-100 and fixing it could be anywhere from 50-150. call around to local vets. Cats cannot be declawed or fixed until they are 6 months old. You can get it the shots right away though. Dont forget major costs like, litter, food, toys, treats and flea treatments every month!!! Litter is only about $10, food is $10-30, toys and treats $5-10 and flea treatments, you can get a 3 month supply as little as 10 at walmart or as much as 60 at you vet. And dont forget your cat needs annual shots too. Good luck with the new kitty!

I don't think I can answer your question, but as a personal note, please don't get the cat de-clawed. De-clawing a cat is a painful procedure of actually cutting off the tips of the cat's toes. I've heard and experience first hand that this can cause a cat pain in his feet for the rest of his life.

We got a cat as a stray who had already been declawed. I can tell, 5 years later now, that he still feels pain in his feet sometimes.

Imagine going through life with the tips of all your fingers amputated. Please don't get him declawed.

It varies from vet to vet. It also depends on what part of the country you live in. As a young kitten you will have to keep going back for awhile until a certain age. It could run you as much as a hundred to two dollars total.

Don't declaw your cat. It would be like cutting off the first set of knuckles on each of your fingers. This is a very cruel practice and should not be performed on any living creature.

-Every vet is different. I have a vet that fixed my cat and de-clawed him in front for $75.00, his shots cost a total of $30.00. So every vet has their price depending on the over head they have.
There are low cost places all over the country, try calling the humane society or animal control in your area, they can help you.
And if de-clawing was cruel, it wouldn't be done. If you de-claw in the front only the cat can still go outside and still defend itself because the back claws are the ones they "kill" with. My cat just won a fight the other night against the neighbors cat and he is de-clawed in front. My furniture is NOT for animals to destroy, although they are allowed to sleep on it. He doesn't even know that he is de-clawed, because he still tries to sharpen his claws.

the normal price I've seen is around $180 for spay and declaw...thats if you get both done. Shots are going to cost around $50-$75 depending on where you go.

About 125. thats what i paid for mine. You can also go to city funded shot clinics were you can get the starter package for cheap.Pet store also hold these.

Getting it fixed depends on the sex.Males is just a slit , while females is a full on surgery,so expect to pay more.

Declawing is tough on a cat and many find out how to use their back feet.Claw caps are much better you just slip them on.Plus they come in differnt colors.

Expect to pay a couple hundred dollars on supplies and shots.Good luck!
