Why are some girls so shy?

I think it just a persons personality. I am a shy person, but through life experience, jobs, school and activities I've been able to open up more and become less shy. I am still a quiet person by nature. You can't ask an out going person to be more shy.. you can't really ask a shy person to be more outgoing.. its just the way everyone is (boys and girls..) Take the first step, most people are shy around people they do not know well. Once they know you, they start to come out of their shell..

Because they have insecurities. I should know, I am probably one of the shyest girls a guy could come across. I'm not shy around other girls, just around guys who are near my age. Even if I'm not attracted to them, I am still shy and insecure. Not sure why. I've been shy my whole life. It may have something to do with being an only child. Only children tend to be the shyest.

My reason for growing up shy.......i was extremely shy. I grew up in a really strict family where I didn't have much of an opinion so I guess I developed my shyness in that way. Maybe some girls have different reason but that's mine.

Some are shy by nature. I know that i am very shy when I meet new people or encounter a new situation. Once I warm up to a person or situation you can;t shut me up I completely come out of my shell.

Hey give girls a break sometimes girls are shy because that is just their personality or it could be that girls are just afraid and they also may have swinging emotions or something else too

i dont know why but they need to get over it just like some guys need to get over being shy you only have one life to live you know might as well make the best of it

Because you guys are so great and it's hard to think of the perfect thing to say or do when we are around you. some girls are also just quieter than others.

because they getreally nervous about being unliked, and so they just kind of hide inside themselfs
