God doesn't need your money, He needs your devotion. If there is something going wrong in your life, it is His way of redicrecting you. Pray for guidance and for Him to do His will in your life. He wants you to be happy, but He wants a relationship with you more. Surrender to his will, then ask for financial stability and to be able to provide for your family and yourself. He could fix it for you now, but He wants you to come to him. He already knows what you need, He just wants you to ask.

Tithing is a personal thing. God wants you to take care of your family, that is your first ministry. Tithing to your church is only necessary if God puts it on your heart to do so. If all you can do for your community is help with fundraisers on your days off, or something like that, then that is your contribution. When God makes money abundant in your life, it is good to tithe because it helps you to let go of material wealth. This helps you get closer to God.

May God bless you in this time of need. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We don't tithe to get rich. We tithe to show God how much we love Him. Besides 10% of what you make belongs to God, that is all He ask for. Anything you give Him above 10% is an offering. God does not need your money He does not need anything from you, but when you give to Him, He will give back. You can not out give God. You talk about rich people, but they only have riches on this earth, what about after this life is over and the riches are burn beneath the ashes, what do they have then. I'll take a shack here and a masion in Heaven, Thank You. Try tithing because you love God and see what a blessing you get. Also you have other things besides money. So many people focus on money when it comes to tithing, what about your, time and talents, they can also be used for the Glory of the Lord.

We are to give from the heart. Not with a calculator as if we were figuring a tip for a waiter/waitress. God knows what you can or cannot afford. Many televangelists and some churches as well have brought this practice back to the forefront. The truth is that you would be more blessed if you were to go and do God's work than to send these people checks. He needs workers far more than he needs your cash. I am blessed abundantly, though not often financially. I've been broke, hungry, and even homeless, but God has taken care of me. Thats a blessing.

Tithing isn't just giving 10% of your income. Much like the command to keep the Sabbath, it's the principle being expressed, not the mathmatical law. Tithing is giving of yourself to the Lord, so that the Lord's work may be done. I give offering in the plate (well, we actually have a discreet basket that we mention, not pass around), but I also give my time and abilities to my fledgling church. On a side note, my wife and I are also going through some serious financial dificulties, with a baby on the way. However, according to 2Tim 6:7-8, essentially God won't leave you naked and hungry, unless there's a serious reason for it. I know it's not easy to think of things in such a abstract way, but then again, faith isn't just "believing what can't be seen". It's walking towards something that you hae reason to believe is true. I hae sufficient reason to believe God will continue to provide for me and my family, therefore I act accordingly. I'm sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I will at least keep you in my prayers.

Keep in mind the Lord he does not promise that we'll be ultra rich, if we pay our tithing, He promises that our temporal needs will be filled. But he also promises lots of spiritual blessings. Increased faith after seeing how Heavenly Father has helped me to be able to pay my tithing has been the biggest one for me. Personal story - I had moved out of an apartment because my roommates turned out to be crazy drug addicts, unfortunately I already paid that months rent. I was staying with a friend for a couple of days trying to see what I could do to find a new place to stay, and trying to get through the week until payday on $20. I figured, if I planned it right, that would be enough for my food that week. Then I remembered I owed exactly $20 in tithing. Maybe it was crazy, but while I was at work, I decided I would use that money to pay for my tithing. Within a few minutes of me making that decision a woman came up to me and gave me a $20 tip (I wasn't a waitress or working the kind of job where people usually get tips). I just about started to cry. Later that night, I went to a church activity and found someone who was subletting a room at a price I could afford. Did I end up rich? no. But I got just what I needed, and even more important I got an overwhelming understanding of how much Heavenly Father really is looking out for me.

Through the years since then, I have continued to see how paying my tithing has opened the windows of heaven poured blessings upon me like it's promised in Malachi 3, and I'm telling you the way to really gain a strong personal conviction of tithing, the way to gain faith on this principle, is to keep paying it now when it's really hard. Cut off extra expenditures where you can, make the payment even if it looks like there's no possible way for it to work, and I promise, you will make it through.

Best wishes!

Tithing isn't lifeless. It grew to become into shown in Malachi and endured in Matthew financial ruin 22. as a results of fact the OT grew to become into the regulation and the NT is grace, and tithing looks under the two dispensations, I take that to represent that tithing continues to be mandatory. Even in the secular experience, how might a church shop it particularly is doors open, much less help it particularly is challenge undertakings without tithing?

The Bible says to tithe and I have for many years and I can't begin to tell you how God has blessed me in so many ways. If you tithe and expect to see a financial
gain immediately in your life, you're tithing for the wrong reason.

First of all, the tithes are supposed to go to whoever feeds you spiritually. A "preacher" should be devoting all his spare time in mediatation and study so that he can "spiritually feed" his congregation.
Tithes are meant to support him and his family financially while he "works" to present an inspired Message to his church.

If he doesn't take the time to study and pray, what can he give them but a shallow lesson. In this day and age we need more than that to be strong in the Lord.
Therefore, the pastor should be worthy of his "pay" also.

Try the Lord though and see what happens.

But remember, there is other blessings that God can give you too.
Blessings in a marriage, in health, in peace of mind,
so many blessings that are even more important than financial blessings. God can bless you with a car that never breaks, an obedient child, a loving spouse.

Trust in God first and He will fill your cup to overflowing but get the right attitude first.

And that means, trust Him in all things.
Don't tell yourself, "if nothing happens I will quit paying tithes" because with that attitude you'll get nowhere.

And yes, pay your tithes with a willing and happy spirit, not begrudgingly. God doesn't want you to
see tithe-paying as a burden but a privilege, and it is.

And for those who don't attend a church but still believe,
send your tithes to some sincere Gospel mission. You'd be amazed at how many poor missionaries there are in this world. Sincere, working for the Lord.

There are non-profit organizations that print religious literature and send it out free. They depend on tithes and offerings to mantain their good works.
Ask God to lead you but don't miss out on the blessing that comes with tithing!

Blessings from tithing aren't always about money, but about knowing you've helped someone who has less. I live in an area where the average home is 2 million dollars. I however live in a 1 bedrrom apartment (with my 2 sons) my rent wouldn't even cover my nieghbors gardeners pay. My son use to get mad most of our neighbors aren't Christian's and he saw them with so much and us with so little. That was until he went to Mexico on mission over Christmas one year to help with the orphans and widows. When he can home he realize just how much we had. And when he told his rich friends about his trip he realized they didn't "get it" he realized his blessing wasn't a nice house or an easy life but that he "got it"
I learned a hard lesson myself, 10 years ago I had cancer and realized something that changed my life and I live by it to this day.
"If you stop an appreciate what you have, then what you don't have won't matter as much"
It's doesn't pay the bills, it doesn't make the hard times go away, or life easier, but it does put things in prospective.
I'll pray for you I know how stressing not making ends meet and barely getting by can be. And how somedays Heaven seems so far away....but it's not.

Tithing keeps the needs of 'your' community alive and well...so that the 'community' that 'you' share with has a stronger voice within the community ....and that's just for starters...and doesn;t the HOLY BIBLE teach how to give as well as tithe..???...and aren't 'you' persevering in 'your' endevors towards 'your' vision/goals' and should 'you' consider the 'past' rather than the future...???....GOD looks into the Heart and knows all 'your' needs etc. before 'you' ask so keep working towards 'your' goals' and remember a frow take a lot more muccels than to smile and laughter is better than sorrow....so develop a 'good' countanance rather than a bleak one that only drags 'you' down....titheing is doing GODS wWILL so be happy...and tomorrow will take care of itself...just like allways.....And unless 'yopu' are a minister do plan ahead a bit so that 'you' will be considered 'wise' and not perhaps a little foolish....do to-day what needs to be done for tomorrow...

Hi there.....tithing is great. I am so blessed when I give back just 10% to the Lord......He gives us everything and just askes for 10% back....I say that is more than fair. Blessings like health, faith, happiness, peace, and yes sometimes money are things that he gives back to us and are sometimes worth so much more than the 10% you give him. If you are LDS you know how important tithing is.......Good luck on your quest for Truth.....Hope that helped. Wow in atlanta hit it on the mark

I think tithing is mathematical. Isn't tithing Greek for a tenth or 10? that's a number and number is math. You can also give of your time and talents....you'll get blessed from that as well

Absolutely. And I never miss the money either.
Don't be concerned with rich people and honestly do you really know what they are tithing or not?
This is the one thing God said to test Him in. Tell Him your fears and ask Him to help you.
Prayers for you.
