Get a tetanus shot, put on a plaster and don't go near dogs.
If you get the law involved, the dog will probably get put down. Its not the dog's fault it bit you. It's either the owner's fault for not training it properly or your fault for treating it wrongly. I think the dog is least deserving of the death sentence in these cases.

I think guns are illegal in Canada so there goes that plan. I'd get checked out at the hospital, unless you have to like travel 600 miles by dog sled to Tuktuyuktuk, maybe the dog had rabies or aids or something? I think you should tell the mounties too in case that dog goes after a child next. You could get an order to have the dog muzzled while outside or off its property etc. Good luck ehh.

Did the wound bleed? If the dog drew blood then I would call the police and the Dog catcher. I would also find out if the dog has had a recent rabies shot and if the dog has bitten someone before. Get medical attention and have events documented.

You need to make sure that the dog was UTD on his rabies vaccinations. If you can't figure out, you're going to need to get rabies shots.
Legally, see the link below. It's probably nearly the same law in Canada, as canada has the same common law tradition as the U.S., eh?

Regardless to where you are...see a doctor. You may need a tetanus shot. Try and get proof from the dog's owner of his current shots. If he is current on all shots you may not need a tetanus.
Unfortunately they are painful, but you cannot take a chance. Not getting one can possibly result in much danger for you and much more pain.
