An old boyfriend told me he was given this name by Republic of Korea Marines for rendering first aid to a chap during an exercise. Want to know who this character was another clue is he helped an old man. Internet no help so far

Hong Gil Dong (홍길동) is a fictitious character in Korean folklore. Almost like the American equivalent of Robin Hood, he robbed the rich to help the poor.
