Don't be afraid of your dad! Dad's can actually listen very well and sometimes offer some of the best advice out there. Just sit down sometime and ask your dad if the 2 of you can talk I'm sure he'll be more than willing to listen and even glad that you're willing to open up to him!

ok maybe I'm wrong about this but sometimes when I have something tough to tell someone I'm afraid of looking in their face...it's starting the conversation that is the hardest. Maybe you can go up to your dad and let him know there are things you want to talk to him about but that you are very nervous...tell him you want to be open but you're a little afraid. Tell him you want to start talking to him a little different. Go in the living room or whatever and have your dad sit down and you turn around the other way so you aren't looking him in the face take a deep breath and spill it...once you get it going you can turn around and keep the conversation going from there. Good luck :) take a deep breath and let it out, you'll feel a lot better after you do :)

Im in the same situation right now with my dad. U just feel that you can't open up because you feel as if he's going to judge you at least that is how I feel. But advice that I can give you if first to take it slow, my dad want me to just automatically talk with him but I tell him I wanna talk but maybe some other time, second spend more time with him and just learn more about him. Since if you spend time with him you would open up more to him until the point where you two can have a intimate talk about each other.

I hope that I helped you out.

Pick one thing out of the "a lot" of things you want to talk about with your dad...the thing you think is the least volitile/controversial and just suck up the courage to discuss it with him...

...if that goes well, then you'll likely feel easier about broaching those other subjects with him...if it does not go well, then perhaps there is some other adult you know (teacher, clergy, mom of a friend, etc) that you could talk to?

Have a friend approach him for you so that he starts the conversation. Your friend might say something like "Mr Father, Princess has a question about whatever. Then he can come to you for more details.

Try writting your dad a letter and put it somewhere he will look before he goes to work like in his car or coat pocket or something.

Trust your dad. Ask him for some time to just sit and talk, it's important to you and to him.
