Why is it that everyone thinks the end times are upon us? Doesn't the Bible state that NO ONE will be able to predict it's coming? Does that mean that the end will come when we least expect it, not when we most expect it? And how have all these end times "predictors" and "interpretors" came up with all their signs? I've read Revelations, and I don't get any of these major signs from it (such as the bombing of the temple, and Russia attacking Israel, etc) Can anyone shed some intelligent light on this for me?

Thank you for the question. Here are a few verses that I hope will helpMark 13:3-8
Signs of the Close of the Age
3 And as he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?” 5 And Jesus began to say to them, “See that no one leads you astray. 6 Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray. 7 And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains. (ESV)

We are told by Jesus Himself that no one knows when the end of time will come, as you state. but we are to look in hope that it will be soon. The disciples thought they were also living in those times. We are to live as if Christ died yesterday, rose today, and is coming back tomorrow :)

The Bible states that no one can know the day or the hour of the rapture... it doesn't say that no one can predict it's coming...

we can make predictions about when we think it will be by following the prophesies... a war against Israel is predicted for the end times just prior to the rapture...

Besides the end of the world won't come until after the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth which will be after the rapture and tribulation... so we have at least 1007 years before the end of the world...

People, or shall I say doomsdayers, look at some of the signs in the bible and decide that we're upon the end of the world. You are correct in saying that the bible states the end of the world will come when least expected - so being that lots of people expect this to be the end of the world, it's just not possible. There are so many HUGE signs in the book of Revelation that would still need to happen before anyone in their right mind could start to believe that we're at the end.

In every time of chaos & crisis, throughout history, there was speculation that the end times were upon us. It would be very easy to find evidence of doom and gloom and chaos now if we choose to. If we do that, spending time trying to figure out when the end will arrive, we are wasting our todays worrying about something that may not come for generations. If it came tomorrow, arriving "unexpectedly" as you referenced, would you have wanted to spend your last day on the planet all bound up in worry and dread? Life is a celebration - make the most of everyday, and if you wake up tomorrow, and the world is still here, then that's a bonus. That's all we can do. Live in the moment. Soon, many moments will be strung together, and you'll be rocking your grandkids, wondering where the heck time went! Peace!

You are very wise to understand that people who make predictions about the "end times" are making fools of themselves, as the Bible does specifically say that the end will come when we least expect it, not when we are looking for it.

That being said, the Bible does say that we should observe the times and the seasons, meaning what is going on in the world and also with the Nation of Israel, because they give indications of the end times approaching. Keep in mind, however, that after Jesus was resurrected, the early Christians thought the end times were coming in a couple of weeks!

So literally, since Jesus was resurrected, we have been nearing the end times. Try not to get irritated with people who think they know more than you or more than God. It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders.

Well, there are many things that make many people feel as though the end times is nearing. There are prophecies pointing to a rebirth of Israel as a nation, for instance, but all these signs merely mean is that we are closer than ever. Technically, though, we are closer than ever to the sun burning out, but that doesn't make it an event that will occur SOON. If its any consolation, EVERY generation since Christ ascended has thought they would be the last generation. No one knows the day or the time, but God

It is just speculation. No one knows for sure, but there are signs in Revelations that are being set into motion. That is why people are speculating. You have to know a lot more about history and symbolism in the bible to understand Revelations. It is a very hard book.

Do not focus on that. What is important is your relationship with God. I believe that Revelations is a book intended for the people who have to endure through the end times, to help them come to know God through His word. The believers will be taken up in the rapture of the church before most of the events in Revelations take place. The people who are left still have a chance to be saved and that book of the bible is for them.

God bless.

We are witnessing the decline of the earth’s environment and resources, a prophetic fulfillment of the Bible.

At the Fourth SEAL, one-fourth part of the earth is to be destroyed before we move forward to the next Seal events (Re.6:7-8 below).

Once the one-fourth part is destroyed, we will move through the SEAL events, followed by the Seven TRUMPET events, and, finally, the Seven Last PLAGUE events.

When the world faces acts of terrorism are we not facing beasts of the earth (Re.6:8, Jude 1:10-11, Titus 1:12, 2 Pet.2:11-13 below)?

Re.6:7And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

Re.6:8And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the FOURTH PART of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Beasts of the Earth

Jude 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

Jude 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain (1 Jn.3:12, Matt.13:38), and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

Titus 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

2 Pet 2:11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

2 Pet.2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

2 Pet.2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
