There are different organisms that cause meningitis. Bacteria that can cause meningitis: Hemophilus and Neisseria meningitidis. Meningitis can also be caused by viruses.

yes. i have a friend that died of it.
and he had his shot.
he caught it at his graduation.
but your chances are less likely.
his shot was worn off.
sometimes you can even get it from the shot because they give you a bit of it for ur antibodies to form. but its not likely because there dead cells.
