I know that there must be somewhere a personality test that will recommend a dog for a person based on the persons own personality. Does anyone know if a really good site for one? Id prefer something somewhat professional and not an amateur made one if possible. Any help would be great. Thank you.

I could have done it for you right now, if you had said more about yourself. The Sporting breeds are generally the sweetest and easiest to train. If you want a specific recommendation, you'll need to say what your lifestyle is - apartment or house? kids or not? How much time are you willing to spend training, exercising and caring for the dog? Do you like snuggly, sweet dogs or hyper athletic dogs? Do you want a dog for protection? Companionship? How important is loyalty to you or would you prefer a dog that wants to be everyone's pal? Have you had a dog before? Trained a dog before? Do you want a dog that is clever and independent or one that more readily does what you want?

don't just do the test have a few breeds in mind of what dogs you like. then do the research. Think do you want a dog that lives inside or outside do you want a guard dog or a lap dog. how long will this breed live. how much can you afford for food what illness are common in this breed. is this breed good with kids if you have kids or planning on having kids. how good will the kids treat the dog and will this breed handle being treated that way. cheek out the cost of vaccination's. Read more then one type of media talk to a vet or an expert. If you want a dog that is inside how much will this breed malt if at all. do I have the time to keep cleaning up fur if the breed malts a lot. all these things break down the breeds and then decide good luck

I don't know of any personality test but this site is informative.

I have found from my personal experience that you first have to find a size of dog that you are comfortable with and accommodations that the dog is comfortable with. All dogs will have different personalities just like people but you can mould them a bit to suit yours. Most dogs will become great companions with love, respect and proper training. The thing I love the most about them is the willingness to please. I have trained my dogs with love and treats and both have been success full (treats work faster thou). Hope this helps

The first link will ask you questions about what you are looking for in a dog and list suggested breeds for you.
The second will take you to four different personality matching quizes.

I think someone already told you this website, but I thought this one was good. You just have to answer about 10 questions and it gives you a list of dogs that matches your answer.

Probably...NOT any good though.

Go to an AKC show & MEET the breeds IN PERSON.Talk to the people actually KNOW & CARE about their breed.
