The thing that most people say right before they die Christian or not is OH SH!T!

As in every case, we can look to the Bible for the answer. An atheist will most likely not pray to God, ever.
We find the proof in Bible's book called Romans, chapter 1. This chapter reveals that all people are able to see the eternal power and divine nature of God in their surroundings. But people suppress the truth.
Some, however, are given a gift from God, a recreation of their affections (John 3:5-7). Those few will then know Jesus, love Him and be saved forever by Him alone (Matthew 7:14,23, Romans 1:17).

An atheist is someone who knows about God but does not believe (stubborn/stupid take your pick). In a falling plane everybody will be praying to God because no matter what you believe your soul belongs to God and your soul knows who the Boss-man is.It will be an involuntary action. How many people do you hear saying OMG(even using His name in vain ).That same person will turn around and tell you that he is an atheist. Why then do they not say OH MY SATAN or OH MY ALLAH.Because deep down they know God exists. If God does not exist then allah/satan does not exist. That would mean that there is no war going on for the possession of your soul. You do not have a soul.If you do not have a soul why do you have intelligence. To do what with.If you did not need a soul you would be an animal or insect.Come on people wake up and see satan rubbing his hands in glee for the fools you are not to believe that God exists.

As you should quickly notice, no one mentions God or Jesus during the final moments. The claim that people suddenly start praying when facing death is just another bible thumper lie they are so fond of telling.

I'm tired of all these atheists assuming every Christian was raised in a pristine home with a good Christian upbringing. If I followed in my father's footsteps, I'd probably be doing 5-10 years for smacking my wife and kids around.

About your plane question: the atheist might not pray right away but he'd certainly discover he has a soul!

BTW, ask people "Do you believe in God?" When they answer no, ask "Are you going to heaven when you die?" They'll say "Absolutely."

I never have had the experience of being in a falling plane. People trained to help out in emergencies like that would keep their cool to the end, I think, and might call out in their hearts to God, but would probably keep focused on trying to give their all to fixing the problem, and keeping the rest of the folk from panicking.

Calling out "Oh my God" would not accomplish this, which may be why such utterances are not recorded in the disaster transcript JT quotes from.

Well, that's a good one. I know from experience that the self professed always revert to their core belief when confronted with immenent demise. What that core belief is we can't say until the moment is at hand. But, for example, if you've always been a bhuddist at heart and you were a self professed christian, you would call out to bhudda for help in the falling plane.

Most people call on God when they are dieing.
Yeah I think he would, but he sure would have to repeat for not believing in the first place.

A lot of people call on God, but when they get what they want they put Him back in their pocket like a dirty hankie they just blew there nose on.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I attend a Methodist Church. I don't know much about John Wesley, the founder, but he claims man is born with something (instinct) called "prevenient grace". Something in him that draws him to God. What he does with God after that is up to him.

I imagine if that's true the falling atheist would welcome God in a big way.

Atheism would not want the existence of a precise god, in simple terms the belief of gods. we are in a position to reject the belief without the actual element latest, and we are nevertheless atheists. i think of that atheism would not be conceivable if there grew to become into no theism as we'd all have a similar view, yet it fairly is slightly diverse. i detect it thrilling that this sort of individual who might say 'atheists would not exist if there grew to become into no god to have faith in in the 1st place' have a tendency to be this sort of folk who wouold reject the theory that if it takes faith to have faith, there won't be something there. it particularly is a similar sort of premise, and that they are in a position to't have it the two procedures.

hell I would pray to god, budda, and a bunch of other god like figures I can't think of right now. Actually I think that regardless of who you were and what your religous background is you would either just pass out or be screaming too loud to pray to anything.
