Notice that there more non-believers in here asking dumb questions than believers?

Why is it that there are so many Atheists in here constantly praddling on about how Christians are so obnoxious? Why is it that so many Atheists in here claim to be so enlightened and content, but apparently their day is not complete unless they come in here and ask a slew of stupid questions geared towards debunking a religion that they just barely have the joist of. Why do so many Atheists in here claim to have the moral high ground but they behave like an angry mob (that is afraid to do anything but gripe on the Internet)? Why are you not content with your beliefs? Why must you try daily to make a Christian miserable in order to be satisfied?

Many Atheists come in here and ask sarcastic questions until they run out of credit then have the gaul to claim to be more respectable and proper than the average Christian. The way I see it they are no better than one of those sheep they hate so much. In my experience, the extreme opposite of a stupid opinion is equally stupid.

This site is to ask questions. If someone does not know about a religion, or wants an opinion, then why get upset about it? This is yahoo answers, not yahoo christian discussion site. Why do Christians not give answers to questions? If a question is asked, they are told they are wrong, will go to hell, and get bible quotes. They act like an angry mob. Christians do everything you say atheists do. Why do Christians have to try to convert people, are they not satisfied in their beliefs until the make atheists miserable? They spread the Gospel, and atheists spread the truth that there is no god. Why do Christians try to pick apart science with sarcastic questions and remarks that are wrong because they have no idea of what they are talking about? Your question is the opposite of the truth, and you must not see the dumb christian questions, or you would not have asked one that is asked many times every day. I get back at Christians, and even try to stop some from wasting their Sundays.

I am not disagreeing with you in any way. But I'm not agreeing with you, either. I am Atheist. I wish I were religious in some way, and have tried to be many times, what with growing up in a Catholic family. I just can't make myself truly believe. I guess I can't convince myself? Anyway, Atheists aren't the only ones who preach. In fact, I tend to hear much more "jesus loves this" and "jesus loves that" than I do "there is no jesus". And also, Christians, Atheists, Jews, Mulsims... they all have a slew of unmoral followers (or non-followers), so it's not right to be sticking titles on any one. You're being just as bad as the Athiests that you're complaining about ragging on you. Cheer up, man. Turn the other cheek. Isn't that what your boy said?

Okay, we'll play it that way. I'd just like to point out that I used to be catholic. I'm now an atheist and it was the best decision I've made in my life because I'm not brainwashed like the rest of you.

You mentioned that we're obnoxious? How about this for obnoxious? Christians are the ones who are always trying to convert people to their religion and claiming that everything you do is the right thing to do. Is it correct when I say that during a mass, the words "God is the one true God" are mentioned? Who the hell are you to claim that your religion is the ONLY religion and that the rest are false? The other major religions, like Muslim and Buddism, always shows respect for other's beliefs and faiths. Hell, they preach that. When was the last time a pastor said it's okay for other people to believe in another religion? NEVER. And because of this, they are "going straight to hell" because they don't worship your "almighty god." You people are arrogant, how dare you...

Also, never have I seen atheists being "enlightened." Hell, we are FAR from being enlightened and we prefer it that way. In fact, we are quite "content" with being who we are because it gives us peace from the hypocritical teachings of the church. You said that WE claim to have a "moral high ground?" You bet your damn a$$ we do! We don't go around trying to convert people, saying that everything from some fairy tale book is the ONLY way, but rather, we're more like the other religions I just mentioned. We RESPECT other's people's beliefs, but when someone does the opposite, that's what really pisses us off.

Again, we don't "claim to be more respectable and proper than the average Christian." No, no, no, we KNOW we are more respectable and proper than the average Christian just from my paragraph above. And that doesn't even cover your gay bashing. So what if people are gay? Are they hurting you in any way? Are they out to bring down your church and your beliefs? NO! They're just trying to live their lives like you and me, just a little differently. They mind their own business and the rest of the world should do the same. A recent study in Sweden (don't ask me for the link, I read this months ago) proved that homosexuality is a genetic thing. They can't help but be gay because it's in their genome. Some even theorize that because as a race, we have too many people so this is nature's population control. And here's another hypocritical thought. Your god claims that he loves us all, so...why does he hate gays again? And don't say "he loves the sinner but hates the sin" because, again, that's just hypocritical nonesense that runs around in a circle. Ignorance and arrogance...

As for your sarcastic question comment, yeah, stupid is as stupid does. Honestly, do you really believe that Jesus Christ turned water into wine? Or walked on water? (Chris Angel did that and it was horribly done.) Or how about "rose" from the dead? Can any of that be scientifically done without waiting a few years for wine, or a clear plastic board underneath the water? As for jesus "rising from the dead," I've seen several depictions of him ascending with a bright light on top of him. Am I correct? Well, here's a little monkey wrench for you. Have you seen X-files lately? Is it correct in assuming that their "alien conspiracies" are based upon sworn testimonies? Based on that assumption, people have reported being abducted by aliens "by a bright light." Coincidence? Again, we'll ask sarcastic questions and reply sarcastic answers as much as you can fuel them to us.

And here's yet another hypocritical thought. If there was really a war described in revelations coming soon, I'm siding with Satan. At least he's honest. Your god tends to beat around the bush with his "teachings" and it's left open out for interpretations. When Satan says he's gonna screw you, that's exactly what he's going to do and nothing else.

It's about respect and neither side of a religious arguement in here can stand to do that. Sarcasm is also rampant in here. Problem w/You Good Christian is that you can't see that your belief system may/might be flawed than you turn around and attempt to force it on others. Therein lies why Atheists become belligerant. Instead of getting intelligent well thought out agruements ideas they get YOU MUST BELIEVE in this or that Christian teneant. We don't respect that and move on to an arguement as to WHY we should think as you do. PEACE!

Well my motto is live and let live, I mean as a christian you know that only you are able to answer for your actions on earth when you reach the pearly gates, so you really should only worry about your own actions.

But apparently, the Atheists are able to get the rise out of you that they seem to be looking for. So why should they stop doing what they are doing, they are getting their satisfaction. The only way to stop them is to ignore them, with any luck they will get bored and more on to something else. The more you acknowledge them, the longer they will be around.

I think you waste too much time being concerned with all the hate & discontent that so-called Atheists throw at Christians. Let it roll off your back, friend. Haven't you read The Book, where it says that we WILL have tribulations? We WILL be mocked, put down, put upon and maligned in every way. Look forward to it! It means that somewhere, some Christian is doing his/her job and have rattled some cages. Of course, when you go off half ******, you're gonna get more tribulation than you bargained for, and are actually proving to them that they're right. Between you and me (and everyone else that reads this), I don't know how Atheists can keep their belief system intact. Everyone believes in something. Atheists don't believe in God. But, they do believe in something. They believe in themselves. It's been said that whatever you spend the most time with is what you're worshipping and putting first in your life. If you spend more time on the TV than reading your Bible, what does that say about what or Who you're worshipping? If you spend more time on yourself than with anything else, what does that say? It's all about what your currency is and what's important to you. God isn't important to them. Why? Because they haven't seen any evidence for Him to be important in their lives. That's where you come in. You are a Christian. You have the responsibility to be a Light bearer. Are you bearing the Light of Jesus in your life? No, I'm not judging, just making a point. If all of us Christians were doing what we're supposed to be doing, Atheists would see the evidence of God in us, and be persueded that if God can live in us, He must be real. You see, you just have to understand the whole picture. Throwing around barbed words isn't a way to win anyone to Christ, which is what we're supposed to be doing, by the way. Live your life in a way that everyone can see a difference. That's what it's all about, friend. Name calling is pointless. Both sides eventually run out of adjectives and wear out the spell check button. My suggestion for you, my friend, is to study your Bible every day. Make sure your life lines up with what it says. Do what you're supposed to do. Pray, at every opportunity. For everyone, even your enemies. Keep living as God directs, keeping yourself focused on the ministry that God has called you to. Do that, and you'll live a life that's pleasing to the God Whom you serve. That's our "reasonable service" (look up that phrase and read the whole chapter). <*)))><

It only proves a point that most aethiest constantly insist on when a Christian just HAS to put a bible scripture of what "God says" as thier ultimate arguement to a "dumb question". If a christian HAS to preach about what they believe to disprove someone else, then THAT is obnoxious.

Just ignore it. that simple. be content with your beliefs and forgive those who are not believers as "jesus would do", instead of trying to make yourself look intelligent by making half-witted insults as your closing argument.

Maybe those atheists in here are not as sure of themselves as they would want everyone to believe. I am a Christian and I don't spend a lot of time on the site that doesn't talk about Jesus. So maybe they are really searching for someone to tell them the truth about Jesus and His Wonderful Love
