Everyone tries to emigrate from Mexico. What is it about Mexico that leads to so few jobs?

I am Mexican, and I have been working 23 years in a row, for several companies, (Gillette, MCI, Korea Telecom, Verizon, Walmart, Bank of America, Telefonica de España, etc.) I have a post grad, and I make like 100,000 dollars a year plus benefits.

Poor uneducated people go to find jobs locals would never do.

Poor educated people find ways to get money, the shoe shiner in our corp. building makes a dollar fifty per person times 80-100 people a day, that makes like 3,000+ dollars a month after taxes (none) not bad for an elementary school guy.

It's all about winner attitude

There are plenty of jobs in Mexico. The problem is they pay pennies on the dollar! in fact Mexico is sucking north Americans jobs at such an alarming rate you see it in the paper and on the news every month since NAFTA was enacted. You see this is a major problem with this issue Big business is getting over on everyone!! they move high paying jobs to Mexico (that Mexicans don't want) so Mexicans cross the border illegally and compete with the people that just lost their jobs to Mexico which lowers the expectation for wages here ... its a viscous circle.

Is not everyone trying to emigrate from Mexico. It is important to mention that Mexicans are very proud of the culture and country. However it happens to be the "next door neighbor" of the US, better know as the LAND OF OPPORTUNITIES. It is easier for a mexican to emigrate than the rest of the world, and since the economy and industry are not strong enough to employ the population, well they have to find a way to survive!

The corrupt oligarchs who own Mexico don't want to provide services and help to the poor in Mexico, they view illegal immigration as a 'release valve' that they can use INSTEAD of actually SOLVING the problems of that country. But unfortunately U.S. businesses and the U.S. government share the blame. Many companies want workers who will work for low wages and no benefits, and they see the illegals as a solution to their 'labor needs'. Also, illegals working for less in the United States lowers wages for everyone else and boosts profit for the richest classes, thereby greatly diminishing any middle class which might challenge the authority of an all powerful ruling elite.

You joking, right? There are untold tens of thousands of unfilled jobs in Mexico. Look around, even the mexicans come and tell us. The last election didn't have enough people to man the polls there, and there's no able bodied men to work the fields, and there are hundreds of openings in Mexico city.

Where did you get the idea this happens to be people escaping from a poor country?? They are the 13th richest out of 180 countries in the world!

It's not that Mexico has few jobs, it's because there are so many more benefits in the US, plus they get paid way better than they would in Mexico and under the table so no taxes. Believe me, there are jobs in Mexico they could be doing.

The problem with Mexico is "Mexicans". They can't maintain a stable economic or political climate in Mexico, so they come to America. But upon arrival, they insist that they continue in their traditional ways, which is exactly what turned Mexico into the third-world country it is today. So they're simply transferring third-world poverty from Mexico to America. Mexicans ruined their own country. They don't deserve a chance to ruin ours.

Not all Illegals come from just Mexico. All of South America is headed this way, they just come through Mexico. This is why they want us to leave the gate open as they do not want these people in their country

Mexico has a lower unemployment rate than the US (although both are very low compared to the rest of the world). Mexico's is 3.6% and the US's is 5.1%.

You (and most other people here) should check your facts before making such asanine assertions.
