That's pretty much the mantra
Not for me, thanks, I'll pass. Give me good old fashion reason.

You're experiences with Christians deceives your thinking about Christianity. Many Christians (many people) are lazy when it comes to studying or reading anything. Those responses are just a by-product of "flabby minds," and an emotional movement within Christianity that started in the late 1800s*. God requires us to have an intellectual faith. Matthew 22:37 -“ Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your MIND.” In scripture, God also says, "Come let us reason together." Isaiah 1:18 God wants to meet us intellectually and in every other way.

I have never heard a Christian say "don't think just believe". That's silly.
It's true that we can turn over our worries to God in prayer. Why that upsets other people...I do not know.
I've never put so much time, study and thought into anything as I have while being in bible study for the last ten years. I would say being a Christian, and "growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" is the complete opposite of what you're asking!

My first ex-gf told me that:
1. I think too much.
2. Rather than even *start* a conversation about sex, that I should just see a hooker.
So I give you two possibilities:
1. The person that told you these things is an @ss.
2. The person that told you these things is a moron.
Unfortunately for my ex she was the latter and ended up marrying the drug dealer that knocked her up and got grotesquely fat.
We were both "Christians" at the time that she told me these things.

It seems rather odd... the critics happen to be the same ones who continue to crowd the psychiatrists office and wonder where their peace and contentment disappeared to.
What I continue to see in many of these various topics is ; mind conditioning, a severe lack of knowledge, continued dumbing down of the educational system. On and on.. and these are the people of reason?????
I wonder why Christianity is the only religion mentioned?? Most religions are far more rigid and mind controlled than is the Christian religion.

Well...if you're not a Christian...therefore pro-thinking...you should already know the answer to your question.
But let's do another one...where and when did the universe start? I want facts..dates and times. No guesses..no best ideas...I want pure reason and logic... so irrefutable that it would convince the entire population of the world that you're correct.
If you can't do that...how are Christians so different from non-Christians as far as thinking is concerned?
Why is a non-Christian's "I don't know?" better than a Christian's "I don't know?"

Not at all since if a person is born into an enviroment that will most likely be the way the 'child' will be raised and it is up to the child when grown to decide via thier own knowledge to choose what will be....and GOD and HIS SON JESUS did say what about the 'RIGHTOUS'>>???>...and ALSO...'reason with GOD,reason 'it' out for yourself, or ALLOW the NATURE of 'things' to TEACH 'YOU' is also what the 'WORD OF GOD' SAYS THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT which is the way the HOLY BIBLE was 'sent to 'us' via MEN and WOMEN of GOD.....etc....(thier ACTS/THOUGHTS/etc)....

Most definitely. Martin Luther said it best:
"Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed. Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding, and whatever it sees must be put out of sight and ... know nothing but the word of God." ~ Martin Luther
"Reason is the Devil's greatest wh*re; by nature and manner of being she is a noxious wh*re; she is a prostitute, the Devil's appointed wh*re; whore eaten by scab and leprosy who ought to be trodden under foot and destroyed, she and her wisdom ... Throw dung in her face to make her ugly. She is and she ought to be drowned in baptism... She would deserve, the wretch, to be banished to the filthiest place in the house, to the closets." ~ Martin Luther
"Reason is the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but -- more frequently than not -- struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God." ~ Martin Luther
"There is on earth among all dangers no more dangerous thing than a richly endowed and adroit reason... Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed." ~ Martin Luther
"Reason should be destroyed in all Christians." ~ Martin Luther

In Budhism, meditation is practiced, where one empties the mind, stops the thinking.
Thinking is not always a good thing. In martial arts, thinking is distracting, that is why you must trust your bodies reactions. And your bodies reactions are developed through training.
Thinking can also cause insomnia. Sometimes in order to have piece of mind we must accept things the way they are.

Well of course your going to say that because you don't believe in anything and thats fine whatever. I believe and I do think for my self doens't make me less than you mentally, so get over yourself and the fact that nothing is what you believe. Stop trying to contradict everyone so what, if we don't believe what you believe. Got buy a hotdog or something.

All religions are false truths. They're there to give inspiration and set down a moral guideline to live by. Religion is a scapegoat for things we can't control in our lives. But to actually believe that there is a greater power controlling our lives?? Pure stupidity. I don't believe in magic....therefore I don't believe in religion.
