Cruise lines do have singles cruises at times, and there are cruise lines that have single share rooms. This means that you will share a room with some one of the same sex and you pay the single supplement.
One of these would be the Windjammer cruises, These are the sail boat style cruises and they are SO much fun...
Here is a website for you to check out

AND: If you go on a Carnival Cruise they have the 1A cabins, these cabins are NOT the price of two people. These are very limited in quantity on each ship though. you pay 150 percent instead of 200 percent. These are inside cabins, with a twin bed, and actually they have more space to move around in, because they only have the one bed on the floor.

Going on a cruise alone, is very relaxing, you will be set with other singles and get to meet new people, I have met several people on cruises and still email them several times, we are planning on taking another cruise together one day. You dont have to debate on what to do, either do this...or do that...because your friend wants to do something different. It is so relaxing, I wont say it is not scarey at first, because it is. But after that first night at dinner and you meet other people, you will be happy that you went alone. I am a travel agent and I see so many people doing this, and they come back very pleased.

Of course it IS always fun to have some one to go with you though, BUT NOT necessary to have fun.

You will need to contact a travel agent to find out the best cruise for you personally, we are hooked up to all the cruise lines and we know the specials, and the best cruises. We do this daily, and we travel on these cruise lines so we can experience first hand what eachline has to offer.
HAVE FUN

Don't go alone. Take a friend or a relative that you are good friends with.

Please PLEASE take this advice: only take someone who you know you will not mind seeing 99% of the time. I went on a 4 night cruise and was with someone who easily ticks me off and while I had a good time, I found parts of it HORRIBLE. I would get up super early to see the sunrise just so I could be away from her. Don't make the same mistake plz!

BTW, there are single cruises. Google for them and good luck! Cruising is a great time!

Some cruise lines (like Carnival and Princess) actually have cruises specifically for singles. Heck, just type "singles cruises" into Yahoo and see how many hits you get - it's amazing!

yes you could go on a cruise by yourself, and there is so much to do you will not be lonely! It's a great opportunity to meet new friends, especially if there are large groups of friends cruising together.

Of course, but you will have to pay for the cost of a full room. Some cruise lines will match you up with a room mate on request. Contact Royal Caribbean, Carnival, or Princess Lines for more information.

I'm actually taking a cruise alone next year. You get a discount on the stateroom, but it is still less expensive if two people go and share the stateroom.

Yes~ you will pay like you are two people,,,less the extra port taxes. I am not sure if you will have to pay the $10.00 per day tip~~ which I wouldn't think you would have to..but you should ask.

I go w/ my family, but seem to go off on my own and do my own thing. I like to visit the spa for facials, while my husband does the manly things.

During breakfast/ lunch I see passengers dining alone while their families are either sleeping, or off doing something else, and no one thinks anything of it.

Go, have a fun time,, and while at port...take an excursion, so you won't have to go alone.

Bon Voyage
