...and you agreed to switch, but this person suddenly caught a bad case of diarrhea, forgot to drink some of the pink medicine, and kept having to step over you when he excused himself to the restroom?

It has not happened to me yet, but I would certainly consider having demanding that I have my seat back after he excused himself for the sixth or seventh time! I was just making sure that I am not alone here with this opinon.

(I don't mean "having demanding..." That's a typo!)

My son & I got food poisoning at the Honolulu airport (chinese food) & about the time I stopped making the toilet dash, he started. I sat in the aisle seat until he needed it. Just take the window seat when your seatmate has made a toilet run. No need to explain. The sick person will be happy not to waste precious moments crawling over your knees.

Well first of all if i had a window seat i would not trade with anyone unless i was sitting next to someone annoying and i would want and isle seat so i could get away quicker. But if i did trade and the person wasn't feeling good i would most defenitly DEMAND my seat back.

To be sure! I would just take back the seat when he was in the bathroom and pretend to be sleeping.

You don't need to demand your window seat back. Just slide over while he is in the bathroom, and when he comes back just smile and say welcome to the aisle seat, I think you need it.
