I've wanted a tattoo for a long time. Now I've done it, I'm very happy about it. It's in a very descrete place, but still she'll see it sooner or later. How do I make her understand that one must be very mature to make such decision about their body?

No explaining is required. If your child asks about it, just say you like it. Your reasons for getting a brand new tattoo may be too sophisicated for a young child to understand. It's enough to let the child know that you like it.

Why does she have to know about the thought that goes into a tattoo? 3-year-olds don't have the attention span for an explanation. Just get her some temporary tats so she can be like mommy. She'll love 'em.

You don't have to explain a tattoo to a three year old...Its just a pretty picture on mommy! A child will not judge you, only the adults will...lol I have two tattoo's and my kids don't pay any attention to them at all..its just a part of mama!

If you don't know how to explain your actions to even a three year old you should not have gotten a tattoo.

be open and honest....my daughter knows ALL about tattoos...she has even seen me get one. Sometimes she draws on herself and she loves temp tats, but she is cool...and she is only 4....kids are a lot smarter than we give them credit for.

tell her the truth, a tattoo dont really come with a lie, would you say, "oh baby this is a tiger birthmark?"

Just claim it's a pretty picture and wait until he/she is older...
