weddings, portratit photography, glamour/erotic photography, photo journalism, commercial photography studio apprentice/assistant, catalog/model photography, educational market (school pictures), gallery curator, etc.

It is probably more important to forge relationships in the field you want to work in. Find a mentor, they are very helpful.

There are a lot of jobs you can get with a photography degree. I majored in photography and right now i'm working as a digital imaging specialist. before that i was a staff photographer at a small magazine company. I was also a photographer for an interior design company. You could get a job as a commercial photographer, portrait photographer, photo editor, photojournalist, photo coordinator, retoucher, you could work for a stock agency or become a freelance photographer. You could also be a wedding photographer. The possibilities go on and on. It is an extremely competitive field. You have to be good to get anywhere in the business. You also have to show that you are dedicated, willing to work long hours, be persistent, and know equipment from inside out. You have to keep up with modern equipment.
In most cases you need connections. Networking is very important.

The degree doesn't mean anything if you didn't really learn anything. If you did learn something it could lead you in to:
Photo Retouching
Studio / Wedding / Product (etc...) Photography
Press/Freelance Photographer
Graphics/ Web/ Online production
Film / Video
Teaching
Archiving
Surveylance Consultant
Photo Lab Assistant
Magazine work
Packaging and labelling
and much more...

You can become a photojournalist and take pictures for media outlets, be a director of photography for films, work in advertising, etc...

*If you college offers a photography major you should look into career counseling if they offer it to see what you can do in that field.

Take pictures & sell them. Or get a job at a fast food place I guess. NO really you could get hired on at a massive # of jornalistic places & take pics of what they tell you to, or you could take pics on your own & sell them to publication places such as newspapers, magazines, idots on the street.....Are you anny good at English? Cuz a major in PHOTOJORNALISM would likely land you a job a bit quicker than in just photography......Good luck
