Try your bank.
Open an account with a credit union and try with them. Credit Unions are usually a little more lenient with their members than regular banks.
Try Citifinancial. They deal with people that have less than perfect credit. Their interest rates will be high though.

Try to work on those baddies on your reports. Check out the site I've linked and start reading in the newbie forum, then in the credit forum.

It is a "free" do it yourself credit repair site

Let me tell you something good! American General approved me for a personal loan and I have had some SERIOUS issues with credit during my younger days! Just keep in mind, with bad credit, chances are you will have an extremely high interest rate. My advice is to accept the loan with higher interest, make payments on time for at least six months and then try to refinance somewhere else (a Credit Union). I am very thankful for them as now I am back on the right track.
