You are not alone ! a lot of people around you, who are successful and happy, still dont know what do with thier lives. It's very hard to be in that state becasue people around us are always moving ahead and that somehow puts pressure on us, or people expect something from us.

Take a blank paper, and pencil and sit by yourself, take account of all the things u r good at, and also all the things u r bad at, but still can manage, things u absolutely will dislike doing. Now think of people whom u look up to and trust. Call them and tell them what dilema u r going thru and need thier feedback about what did they observe and notice in you that could be of use for u to make a decision. Give htem few days time, and call back. Dont make this a regular informal talks. Make it sound like a professional call, they'll also feel that u r making an effort.

Now think of all the role models around you, maybe your relative, your friend. Try to match the skills u have to what they have. Call these people and ask them out for a cup of coffee or lunch. Talk to them, tell them sincerely how u feel, what ur skills, abilitites and capabilitites are. Ask for suggestions and ask for help. Maybe a volunteering position, a temporary job, just until u know it is something u can really do.

History, People, Media puts pressure on us to "do what we love", "have a satisfying job" etc etc. But the way these feelings / attitudes are measured is diffeent for everyone. You always have to push yourslef to more than u think u can do. Test your limits, find your pace and bingo....an opportunity knocks.

I'm sure ur hardwork pays off.

Charity work is a great thing to do at any time of your life.

You might consider going to the book store and buying a self-help book.

You might consider going to a counselor such as a psychologist. Unless you are feeling a MEDICAL CONDITION such as DEPRESSION I do not recommend psychiatrists. Psychiatrists just seem to prescribe drugs when other approaches are usually more fulfilling and achieve satisfactory results.

Talk to your friends about ideas for your future? Do you need a different job? A new boyfriend or girlfriend? A new friend? A new hobby? To further your education in school or at home? A new religion or renewed interest in your current religion?

Education is never a bad step. You can go back to school if you are not in school already. If you are in school, you can probably talk to a "guidance counselor."

What makes you happy? What helps you sleep at night? I like suggesting charity work as the best overall fix all solution, but that is NOT ALWAYS the best answer.

Maybe you should just take some time and try to help other people with their questions here on Yahoo Questions. Some poor lazy kids need help with their homework and are too lazy to crack a book open. I like GIVING THEM TOO MUCH INFORMATION and punishing them with OVEREDUCATION in return for laziness. I hope more people get involved with this practice as it is GOOD FOR EDUCATION and GOOD FOR THE KIDS.

Well... first you have to learn what you LIKE! If you haven't yet decided what to do with your life, you have the benefit of being able to chose something you will enjoy!

Have you ever volunteered anywhere? I find this a good way to experience a broad range of things and see which bits and pieces of different jobs you might like. Suggestions for volunteering venues are: animal shelter, volunteer fire department, hospital, your local park... pick an interest and I bet there is a worthwhile organization that could use your help!

For me, it was like this:
I was applying to several colleges, liberal arts or with diverse programs because I didn't know what to do. Then one day, it just hit me - psychology - helping people out with their problems, creative solutions, and mechanics of the mind.

What I DIDN'T do was a double-major or minor, and I didn't do the research on how much it would cost me, and how much I could make. If I had - I would've done ANYTHING else.

Take an aptitude test (a real one, not something you find online). This test will tell you what your strong points and weak points are. It will also tell you what careers will suit you best. I took one in 9th grade and nearly 20 years later I can say that had I paid more attention to it, I'd probably not be in such a loser job!

Well you need to decide what you want to do with your life, then set realistic goals that you can attain. They don't have to be these big huge hoals, but a little at a time. You'll see how far you get in a short amount of time. Best of luck to you.

How old are you amore? Many people find it hard figuring out what they want to do with thier life. Some people know right away. It is not always easy figuring out what to do, you can volunteer somewhere that you feel will benefit you and you will find ejoyable.
