Public School or Private School? and why?

Tough question

My children are in public school. We wanted them to be around a broad range of students and believe a proper education is the result of parent teacher cooperation. It doesn't matter if it is public school or private school in that respect.

Some public school systems are awful. If it is truly unsafe or has terrible facilities, then and only then, would I consider private school.

Public School in a good community.People think that private schools are better because they have to pay.I went to a private school and my friends were learning so many more things than we were. They have more of a opportunity of being well rounded in public schools.More in the real world.Going to a private school was like attack of the clones.I could of sent my children to private schools but opted out.People think private schools the kids will be protected from things but I know it's not so.Good Luck!

Depending on what you put into either. If you choose public school, then you have to be extremely active in your child's education and talk to them about EVERYTHING they will be surrounded by plus make sure you are teaching them things that they may be missing at school. If you choose private school you still have to make sure the quality of education is good and that they are still aware of worldly matters so they are not too sheltered and get out into the real world after graduation and not able to fiend for themselves with a common sense of street and intellectual knowledge.

For what? High school? Private school's usually expensive and the kids who go there are spoiled brats... but if your local public school is crappy, go to the better private school to make sure you get into college.

public. I think you can learn more social skills in a public school as opposed to private where almost everyone in in the same (social)class.

They both have their special qualities, usually private schools have smaller classes which allow more one on one help.

private = more expensive, more focused on education. not a chance to mingle with people of other cultures, races etc. safer, less money spent on clothes, better learning experience

public = more likely to get shot or knocked up, education is substandard, meet more different types of people, better for cultural experience, not educational, lots of money spent on clothes
