"The Bible doesn't teach how the heavens go, but how to go to heaven."

I saw this online somewhere and its correct that science teaches about our reality, but the Bible teaches how to live and return to God.

And where is the supposed heaven that is discussed? If you feel that 'heaven' is in some far off place, unatainable for you from here, then no one has a shot of 'getting to heaven.' All reality is within yourself. You can decide what heavenly life you will live. As far as after death, thre is no end to the beauty in all of creation.

FOR ONE THAT STATMENT SOUNDS A LIL CANNY TO ME BUT I WILL ANSWER IT IN THE BEST WAY AS POSSIBLE. IT CLEARLY STATES IN REVELATION 21:9:11-25 AND CHAPTER 22 THE WAY HEAVEN LOOKS LIKE.
9 AND THERE CAME UNTO ME ONE OF THE 7 ANGELS WHICH HAD THE 7 VAILS FULL OF THE 7 LAST PLAGUES, AND TALKED TO ME SAYING COME HITHER I WILL SHOW U THE BRIBE THE LAMB'S WIFE.
11-HAVING THE GLORY OF GOD AND HER LIGHT WAS LIKE UNTO A JASPER STONE CLEAR AS CRYSTAL
12- AND HAD WALL GREAT AND HIGH AND HAD 12 GATES AND AT THE GATES 12 ANGLES AND NAMES WRITTEN THEREON WHICH ARE THE NAMES OF THE 12 TRIBES OF THE CHILDREN OF ISAREL
13-ON THE EAST 3 GATES ON THE NORTH 3 GATES ON THE SOUTH 3 GATES ON THE NORTH 3 GATES AND ON THE WEST 3 GATES
14-AND THE WALL OF THE CITY HAD 12 FOUNDATIONS AND IN THEM THE NAME OF THE 12 APOSTLES OF THE LAMB....
IM SORRY IM NOT ABLE TO TYPE ALL OF THE DESCRIPITON OF HEAVEN BUT U CAN READ AT THOSE REFENCES. I HOPE THE POEPLE HAVE UNDERSTANDING AND RECEIVE IT. IT IS VERY DESPRITIVE YOU WILL JUST HAVE 2 READ IT FOR YOURSELVE.

IT ALSO STATES THE WAY HEAVEN WILL GO AND FAR ON IF U JUST READ THE BIBLE IT WILL TELL U EVERYTHING U NEED TO KNOW.
-GOD BLESS YA-

i'm sorry but the bible does teach us on the heavens. tells us that we'd be walking on streets of gold. that there won't be any pain, suffering, crying there.
mansions for his people, jewels.
i think u need to read the bible some more, study it also. if u need more questions & answers call & ask someone.
the bible shares about heaven & yes, what we human individuals need to do to get to heaven & have eternal life forever.

It's a nice quote for those who accept the Bible, at least it makes more sense than those who think the book is a science text as well.

Bible teaches us XXX and violence.
If you can show me any other book that has at least half of the violence in it i will reconcider my self.
Bible teaches us how to get to heaven? Well pardon me but the word hell and stories are 100 times fold more than heaven.
I guess bible teaches you to have selctive reading.
Peace.

Ok then, let's accept science explaining our reality. I'm all for that. As far as going to heaven goes, if you proscribe to that then good for you. Leave sciene to the scientists meanwhile.

Very well-said. After all, despite our collective human arrogance, we can't possibly understand Heaven. But we can understand and learn how to get there. What a beautiful sentiment.
