is there a biological reason that people cry. what is it about crying that is suposed to help. just wondering

i have wondered that too. it could be the saline in the tears that comforts us.

Well I'll tell ya. When my son kicked me in the nutz I damn sure cried. If that'snot a good reason to cry I don't know what is. Or maybe for some of you women you know when you zip up those jeans and get the lips caught in there that might do it as well.

Crying is how we cope. When we were babies and there was a problem, we cried...an lo and behold someone helped us. Even as adults, you are likely to get sympathy if you cry. If you believe in evolution, then anything that leads to others helping you will be passed on to future generations.

There are all sorts of reasons you would cry. Too many to list. I think of crying as a cleansing.
