As a Marine serving a 2ND year in Iraq, I believe we would be irresponsible not to assist a people who are unable to help themselves. I am sorry that some of my fellow Marines have strayed from the mission and taken advantage of some of these people, but they will pay the price for it. The general public cannot see the good that is being done, the smiles on the faces of so many and how welcome it makes us feel. It is only motivation to stay until the job is finished, and these people can sleep soundly in their beds at night knowing the sacrifices that were made for them.

There is no war against terrorism. You can't have a war against a people in which you don't know who you are fighting against. Bush and the US Government have turned the US Army into a puppet used by big oil. The anti-war activists have every right to say whatever they want, its called the first amendment. Bush and Chaney have abused the great soldiers of america and have instead used them to put money in the pockets of big buisness. Why do you think they have chosen not to attack Iran? If we do, Iran will light off the oil wells, say goodbye to the oil buisness. When in fact if we just spend some more money on the integration of alternative energy we wouldnt't need to be concerned with middle-east what-so-ever except for some peace keeping mission every now and then PICKED by the UN. The US is not the owner of the world, I don't know where people have seem to gotten this idea, but it is not true.

NOTE: Any active duty soldier who posts an aswer for this question has signed a contract not to speak out against the current war, if they do, it is concidred treason and is aiding the enemy. Perhaps because you do not have any experience in the realities of war, you do not know that each and every soldier, during their contract period are no longer protected by the constitution especially the freedom of speech, and the right to a trial by their peers. They have to do whatever they are told, or else they can be perfectly legally hanged.

I got out in January of 2005 I came home and got pregnant after four years of the military. I don't agree with the war in Iraq or terrorism because I think Bush reason's were unfounded and that he was in a conspiracy of 9/11. I do not understand any decisions the government makes if it isn't in the best interest of the American people and secondly humanity. As for antiwar activist I agree with them totally if they are taking a vigilant peaceful approach instead of not saying a thing and festering with frustration!

They love what they are doing and they know it is for the right reason. They get thanked each day by the Iraqis. Why do you not find some and talk. That is when you will see the truth and not the lies the press puts out.
About the activists. The activists I have seen get joy in their hearts each time they see a US flag over a coffin. So you tell me how they feel about the activists. They are fighting for them as well.

it has nothing to do with agreeing or not it has to do with the fact that we signed up to defend this country and president Bush being in charge we have to fallow what we are told. i understand the anti-war activists i do not agree with them at all, but that is the great thing about freedom of speach people have the right to speek there minds. I do beleave that this war is for the greater good, that something good can come from what is happening.
