forever? no. it will continue to grow and the new hair will still be curly or wavy. The yuko system works well but it's rather pricey - $500+ and it has to be touched up every few months.

this article explains it well:

No, you can't...even what they call permanent straightening at parlours is temporary...It stays only till the hair grows out...and I've heard some cases where the after effects are disastrous...it's very bad for your hair.

I assume you mean chemical straightening which would be a relaxer also called a perm to many African American woman. Your hair will eventually grow out so it will have to be done again but if you want it straight this is an option

you can have it chemically straightened. The long and short of it. They put a perm solution in your hair and comb it through. There are also chemical relaxers. If your hair is dry or frizzy though you would also need a cut. It will dry you out pretty bad.

i don't think you can permanently straighten your hair but you could try perming solution.they use it to perm hair so why not to straighten.it will work for a while but it wont be permanent

Yes, with chemicals. It only lasts until your hair grows out though, so technically it's not 'permanent.'

No. I have wavy hair and I get my hair chemically straightened every 6 months. It's not stick str8 or permenant, but its better than it would be without it....

I don't think so. You can't change the cuticle forever. But you can change it for long periods of time. Check out the Japanese Straightening systems. I heard they are da bomb, but real pricey $$$$
