Intense (heart rate 150 beats per minute) aerobic exercise (either swimming or cycling) for 30 minutes every day, as well as lowering your calorie intake (to about 1800 since you've recently had a baby) will help you to lose weight fairly quickly. If you also do strength training (like lifting small weights) you will gain muscle and become more tone, as well. The more muscle you have, the faster your body burns calories (doing the SAME exercises compared to when you have less muscle).

Biking is such a great exercise and it is easy on your joints. I don't ride outside I do spinning classes at my gym about three days a week for about an hour at a time. This is a pretty high intensity workout and we end up sweating out about 10 miles worth of road work.

I am thinking that 3 days a week working up to an hour ride would be about right.

I would suggest 30 minutes of bicycling three times a week while alternating swimming every other day, or walking.
