Drinking large volumes of water without excercising will only help you lose water weight. REASON: Your body stores when you limit intake. That's why when you starve yourself you drop weight but the moment you eat again you will gain more weight then you lost. You have taught your body that it may be starved again so it has to store up fat to protect itself. The same thing with water, except the more you drink of it the more your body expells it out. So you will lose water weight because your body will believe that it will be consistently getting that volume of water and it has no reason to store it.

Best advice to lose weight, drink plenty of water, eat smaller portioned meals throughout the day that are high in protein and low in fat and bad carbs. And most importantly....excercise. Even it's just a walk, some table tennis...anything..just get your body moving.

Realize though, that no matter how you look on the outside it won't matter if you aren't beautiful on the inside. Losing weight is only a success if you are doing it for yourself. Don't punish yourself if you have a bad day and pigged out on cheesecake and missed your workout. Understand that you made a mistake and start again the next day. One day at a time.

OH, and another thing...you can get water intoxication by comsuming to much water over a short period of time....which can actually lead to death.

Drinking to much will hurt you. It was a proven fact that water does not "flush" fat out of the body. Please read the link below for more.

Below is taken directly from link provided.

Drinking 500 mL of water (a half-liter or about a pint) increased the study participants' metabolism briefly - for about a half hour. In that time they burned an extra 25 calories. That's about a quarter of a piece of sliced bread, or 5 M&Ms. The researchers theorized that most of the effect comes from warming the water in the stomach. In the male participants the calories came mostly from stored fat, in the women it came from stored carbohydrates. The paper was published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, December, 2003. It was conducted by researchers in Berlin.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Water helps speed up your metabolism - in order for your body to process the water you drink, it has to heat it up to a certain temperature, so you exert energy - your metabolism has to rev up to provide the kilojules needed to warm up the water.
So yes, it does help you burn fat, provided you watch your caloric intake.
Less in, more out.

I don't know if it will help you burn fat, but I do know that since I started drinking at least 2 liters a day, I can maintain my weight better, I don't get headaches as often, and my overall health has improved.
