The M-16 or the AK-47

That depends. The M-16 has been improved upon over the years and has become a fairly reliable weapon. It's highly accurate with good range in 5.56x45 m/m, (.223 Remington), and easy to use. But, (IMHO), it still requires too much maintenance in the field. The AK-47 has seldom needed any "improvements". It was nearly perfect as it was originally designed. It's as close to "100% reliable" as any modern weapon can come. However, the 7.62x39 m/m cartridge isn't exactly the most accurate round ever invented. And it's range is much more limited than the NATO 5.56x45 m/m. A better weapon can be found in the AK-74. It utilizes the 5.45x39 m/m round, and is much more accurate with a far greater range capability. But in a tight spot, I wouldn't pass one to get to the other.

ahhhhhhhh i was going to say water gun - then again you could fill it with lighter fluid and use it as a flame thrower if you know how - well 2nd guess would be a sling shot but you might hit someone in the eye with rocks - OK OK - I choose the AK-47 - it has armour peircing bullets, you can most likely get it off the black market or any dirty cop - depending on what city i guess - So Yeah - the AK-47 - if you are going to kill - use this and get it over with - besides the M-16 still cloggs up at times with dirt

The AK is a better field weapon, in the sense of it not being so maintenance intensive, but it doesn't have the range of the-16. Given a choice I'll take the M-14 over both hands down..

Have to go with the M-16 since I have never fired and AK...But now I prefer the M-4 with the red dot sites...They have replaced the M-16..It is a much lighter gun and more accurate in my opinion

I like the M-16. I don't have too much experience with the AK, but the ones I've seen were a bit on the "not so well put together" side.

The ak is a better weapon for the average person. It works well with most poor country's because they are not great shots, not well disciplined and do not keep the weapons in great condition. It is perfect for them. But in a professional disciplined hand. The m-16 is an amazing weapon that can tear asunder any enemy.

I am an avid shooter - and a very good cowboy action shootist. I can tell you that being extremely familiar with both weapons, teh better rifle is the AK-47. The reasons are: Performance, ballistic acquity, weight, and longevity. #1 reason - performance, especially when cleaning the weapon is not a ready option and use of the weapon is essential.

Im not allowed to have weapons of any kind, the old pen is mightier than the sword comes to mind, but sure would like my burning flaming sword now.

I like my BB gun. It'll put your eye out, so be careful! If that happens, I'll just get in my F16 and terrorize the ol' neighborhood.
