First i have to say some of these answer are totally stupid, the question said "the facts on the evolution of religion are well documented". It has nothing to do with Darwin's theory of evolution, there are so many stupid people out there read the question ffs!
Now to the answer, basically we lie to our children religion is very powerful tool of influencing the masses, and these truth where put in the mainstream most people would say it's a lie. I won't matter how much information you put infront of people they will always say it not true, stand up for their beliefs. Which i think is the ignorant thing in the world but hey "ignorance is bliss" as they say!

It's kind of funny. Christians can't even get the right argument. They are debating you on Evolution of species theory, when the question is Evolution of Christianity.
There is a lot more to laugh about. Evolve. Like how at one time Christmas was banned as unholy, but now they find it completely sacred. And how easy they would evolve and divide 200 years ago and 500 years ago, but are so rigid about their traditions today. Like if a King wanted a divorce and the Pope wouldn't let him, he just change the religion and millions follow him. Yet today, we have a population of 6.6 Billion on the planet. There isn't enough food, there isn't enough gas, and they choose to interpret the word of god supposedly from when the world population was 2 people. Ah, we are over populated, and it is a danger! How about some birth control? To abort is murder, but hook a guy into an electric chair, that might be okay. Completely arbitrary.

Einstein said whatever you perceive to be evil is in fact evil, therefore if hes correct then whatever you perceive to be a holy prophet is a holy prophet because of all the thoughts as energy that's went to Jesus has created a phenomenon, that brings goodness into the world where you create a great and wonderful things ,cosmic law dictates that it must have an equal and opposite Satan but what we cant comprehend is we are all part of a whole and the spectrum of opposites (extremes) that are at work in every aspect of the world are all part of a bigger picture . enter the possibility that Thoughts on every level are powerful things and what we create we can also manipulate. Logically god would have this ability too , to what degree who knows but i can testify that there are alot of unexplainable stuff that goes on in this world on one end of the spectrum there are miracles angels and also the hand of god working through us ,coincidence dejavu ,just someone saying the right thing at the right time. all these things tells us we are not alone in the world and Jesus while it may not be literary explainable a connection to the Devinne was established through faith and great works of art have been inspired by .who r u too say it isn't true. B nice.

Evolution is a theory not fact. There are many scientist even top evolutionists that have serious problems with it. One of the top scientists studying the neanderthal man said that it was more evolved than modern man not before him. He is a well respected evolutionists. A number of finds turned out to be regular animals and some faked. One find had mammoths attacked by dinosaurs which puts dinosaurs at the same time as man. Even the bible talked about Pangaea the super continent thousands of years ago before scientist even existed. I think you will find is that science has facts and the bible has facts, both are misinterpreted a lot.

Actually, evolution is not a fact but a theory. There is a huge difference between the two. In fact, there are some SERIOUS gaps in the theory of evolution that cannot be accounted for without the presense of "something" else. For example, the eye. Or the fact that there has not been a single case of "evolution" documented since Darwin started his theory. Nothing is proven with evolution, just as nothing is proven with God. Both theories require a huge amount of faith to believe, why do you think your theory has more validity than someone elses?

The idea that the God of the Bible was made up by man is ludicrous. Would someone actually make up a Deity who demands righteous living, judges sin, and allows unbelievers to suffer eternal torment? Of course not. We would create a new agey god, one who smiled on everything, allowed everything, who is tolerant of all beliefs and allows everyone into Heaven.
As far as the pagan gods, where are they now? They have crumbled into dust, they were simply idols made of mans hands and have gone the way of the "great" civilizations that worshiped them.
Jesus claimed Deity, man did not ascribe it to Him The reason these "truths" are not mainstream is because they are utter nonsense and not worthy of study.

What does the fact that man has evolved have to with God. Nothing at all.
So people have connected to God in different cultural ways as cultures changed. This has absolutely nothing to do with God God has not changed. People have a right to go to the library and look up world history and make up there own minds. No one is stopping them or you.
The on thing that I seem to find in common with atheists is that they all grew up in some dysfunctional shame based religion. They all seem to be angry at people who believe in God, And blame God for human actions none of it has anything to do with God.

There's a lot of money and power in religion. Why would those who profit from it want the truth to come out?
