Of course, you can be Jewish if you want. Or any other religion.

I guess the better question would be "Are you religious or not?"

Right now...2 atheists, 9 religious, 1 guy abstained.

Oh poor Devil's advocate, must you lash out at the ill informed (me) who are attempting to make their way through this morass of never ending questions and answers.

I am religious, I do believe in GOD and here is why...

Please read and consider what I say very carefully, open your mind and let go of your humanity.

This is a silly question. think my friend for a moment. Do you go into a grocery store and ask for the manager and get the reply:

"Why do you believe there is a manager?"

The fact that the grocery store exists leads to the fact that there is a manger I.E> the fact that the universe exists itslelf lends to the fact that GOD also exists.

Say I'm holding a pencil and you ask me

"who made that pencil in your hand?"

And I replied

"No one. It made itself."

You would never ever believe me... right??? Obviously pencils dont just come into existance or make themselves..... So if you cannot believe that a simple pencil cannot just come into existance... Why could anyone believe that the univers just came into existance??? With all it's complexities laws and rules and its complex setup.... If a simple pencil cannot simply come into existance without a creator than how can the infinite universe???

Plus if you think about it the universe had equivelant chances of coming into existance as absolutely any possilble combination of setups of atoms without guidance. It could have come into existance as a jumbo jet, or a nuclear missile. It also hade a 1/infinity chance of bearing life, but for some reason it did. I dont like those odds, something must have guided it.

Also another point is ask someone where anything came from. Lets go back to the pencil. Well it came from a factory.... and the factory was made by humans, and humans crawled out of the primordial sludge, and the sludge came from a mixture of carbon and oxygen atoms struck by lightning, and the lightning came from uneven heating of the earth, and uneven heating of the earth came from the sun, and the sun came from hydrogen being converted into helium, which was brought about by gravity, which came from the big bang, wait a sec.... where did the big bang come from? What started it? See, if you go back far enough there has to be some unmoved mover... something.someone who started all the processes of everything... you can go through an infinite number of steps but you always lead back to the truth which is that there is a GOD. Plain and simple.

GOD Bless you all and may he guide you to understanding.

BTW, I'm a 17 yr old catholic!

If you are frustrated with 'Christianity' as practiced here in this country currently; I understand; The man-made old testament of Genesis-Malachi is not scriptural; the scriptural old testament; is the law of Moses. The Jews were told to have two or more witnesses (about three times Deut. 10-20), and the Christians were given the same command (Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1). When this concept is applied, one finds the 'old testament' is the law of Moses. My 'two or more witnesses' include Joshua (Joshua 8:31), David (2 Kings 2:3), Solomon, Nehemiah (Nehemiah 8:1), Daniel (Daniel 9:11-13), Malachi (Malachi 4:4)i, Jesus (Matt. 19:7-9), God the Father (Matt. 17; in effect he backs up whatever Jesus his Son says), and the apostle Paul. (The law is referred to as the old testament (KJV), many other English versions translate it as old covenant in 2 Cor. 3:13-14). Perhaps this is part of why the beast in Revelation 17 is the USA, and the harlot Babylon is the leadership of the USA. (See what happens to the beast and harlot in Revelation 18).
Does this reply earn me a ‘best answer ‘ to the question in your present opinion?

Are you the last person on earth to realize that the atheist population is smaller? Christianity is so domineering, of course it is bigger. And all religions of the world together, well DUH there are going to be more people if add them all together. Aren't a very bright one are you...

So your point of this clearly pointless post is what...?

P.S. Atheist. And the population is larger then people even know, most are likely to go unaccounted for as they don't talk about it. Where I live, we have at least three non believer houses in a row all entirely by coincidence. That would be near impossible to do if the population was very few.

I am an Atheist. I used to claim I was a christian even though I never believed in any Gods. I wonder how many still call themselves Christians, that don't believe in resurrections and miracles and such. They know they were brought up to believe they were Christians, but their beliefs are more like a Deist/Agnostic.

Pagan here, and I agree with Indigo. A lot of christians don't realize just how many people of other faiths there really are. Some don't advertise because they don't want to risk their family's peaceful homelife, their jobs (yes, their jobs) etc. Then there are people like myself who doesn't give a hoot who knows, lol. I am who I am, like me or not. Blessings!

I am an extremely spiritual divine universalist. I am not a religious anything. Organized religion crushes spirituality and true communion with the Almighty.

Atheist, free thinker, 10% richer than believers since I don't tithe anything. I also have an extra hour and a half of free time during the week since I don't have to go to church.

Damn proud of it.

I am a born again Christian, Baptist denomination.
You can be religious to or about any person, place or thing. So people who say they are religious aren't necessarily claiming a particular faith. They could be religious to their job, money a certain person..ect.
