We'll throw aside the argument that nearly every species on the planet has a small homosexual population, and we'll try another argument.
On a strictly "natural" basis, why bother with marriage at all? If heterosexuals are strictly on this planet to reproduce and make more babies, why marry at all? Isn't marriage sort of counter productive for advancing the species and gene pool?
Why procreate with the same woman multiple times? To make a better gene pool, why not just go have children with multiple women? You can get the job done of birthing 3 children in the time it takes to birth one. Just go around and have sex with 3 women in the same day, get them pregnant, and 9 months later, you've got your genes shared with 3 different women and you've got 3 different gene pools to help advance the human race!
So, how can you truly use the "unnatrual" argument against gay marriage and not sound like a bleeding dolt?

child_of_the_lion - God didn't command that "homos" be killed. That term didn't arise until the last century. Nice try, though.

Chainsawmom - I love your name, and you had a great point about normal. At less than 10%, you are correct. Homosexuality is hardly the norm in any society.

I'd like to give out a big shout of thanks to the radical rote (not the Christians, the fundamental extremists who don't typically speak for Christianity) for showing up on this argument.
In 10 to 20 years, you'll be look back on as the bigots you are. Believe what you will, but, keep it out of public law.

I think people get confused when they use the term, "natural". You are correct in your observation that if we truly live with a natural intent, we would mate with multiple partners. Women would seek out the most virile, intelligent, strong men, while guys would also seek out women with the best genes. But, I think when people say that homosexuality isn't natural, they really should use the term, "normal." I think you would agree that there are far more heterosexual couples than there are homosexual ones. This, by definition, makes heterosexual mates the norm or normal.
What I've never understood is why perfectly happy heterosexuals even care if homosexuals want to marry. In most cases, marriage actually strengthens our country by creating stable relationships and family ties. Allowing homosexuals to enjoy the same benefits of heterosexual couples would serve to make our inner culture even more stable.
I appreciate your question...it was thought provoking.

Because marriage was ordained by God and set up by Adam and Eve. It isn't only for procreation. It's also for companionship, completion each sexes. A man isn't whole until he has the woman side and a woman isn't whole without the man side. That's how it was meant to be.
Also, take it from a medical standpoint- heterosexuals are much less likely to get and spread STD's, AIDS and a veriaty of other things.
It isn't fiesable to say that if you want kids to go have sex with 3 women in a day and all three will have kids. There is such thing as a menstral cycle and just because you have sex doesn't mean that a baby will be the result.
Sex was set up to be not only for procreation purposes, but also as a way to show complete love and trust with your SPOUSE!! Not with whoever you want, not with someone of the same sex. Only man and woman in the bonds of holy matrimony. Sorry to anyone that this offends, but I have to stick up for what I believe now.
Also, there are many places in the bible where it states that homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. Also, you have to think about Sodom and Gomorah. They were distroyed because of homosexuality. It was totally out of control there and I'm sure that disease was so prevelent that that would have been the only way to stop the spread.
I don't care if I sound like a bleeding dolt. I don't believe in Gay marriage, and I don't believe it is natural for a man to be with a man, or a woman to be with a woman. That is not the way God intended it and that isn't the way to further our society.

You totally miss the point. It is natural that a man and a women were physically made to join at the waist to procreate the species. It is unnatural therefore for the same sex to do that and result in continuation of the species. On a religious view point if you will, God also spoke against it in such severe terms as to demand that homos be killed. I acknowledge that was the Old Testament but Jesus said He did not come to do away with that testament but to fulfill it. Think about that for a while. What do you think Jesus meant ?

They were not married as are modern day calls for, a ceremony and a piece of paper. The Bible is clear that God made Eve to compliment Adam not just cause he was bored. So the word marriage isn't there but it is implied and EASILY read from the context even if you aren't looking for it. Unfortunately, if you want to try and justify something you can read it out but that is between you and God.

Ever heard of love? Ever been in love? Try reversing your question. For instance: it isn't natural for male and female to get married. Hmmmm.... don't guess any of us would be here, eh?
Also you tend to leave the 'feelings' of the female out of sight, right ladies? his quote below copied and pasted >>>>
"Just go around and have sex with 3 women in the same day, get them pregnant, and 9 months later, you've got your genes shared with 3 different women ... "
Do you have a Mother? Of course. Mine is deceased but I sure as hell would want to know who my father was if my Mom had been screwin' every man around 3 different times per day!
Also, I think my father, and I use that term loosely because of his ignorance about sex and family life, has at least one 'son' in another state. But I don't know for sure, it's controversial now because it was never resolved before his or my Mother's departure from this world.
Also, reproduction in all life forms is a basic essential. And, giving you credit, which is difficult to do, yes every species has a 'practice'/ 'population of homosexuality.

You can produce 4 different babies with four different women and help populate the earth quicker if that is what you feel that you need to do but what if you catch a nasty STD from one of those women? I believe that there are enough people on the face of the earth with different gene pools to help create different people and advance the human race. Marriage was put here for the purpose of us to share our lives and ourselves with one person for the rest of our lives. Sex is a part of marriage and a part of showing someone that you love them. It is not just for reproduction purposes. You give yourself and your soul away each time you sleep with someone, whether or not you are with the same person. As far as the gay marriage thing goes, they don't count as a couple or equivalent to a marriage license because they can't reproduce. If God made it possible for two men to be able to be together in relations he would have made it possible for them to be able to reproduce. So, it is unnatural for same sex marriages. There is more to life than reproduction and getting to "bust a nut".

Well, I think that if you had sex with multiple partners you would have to worry about STD's and cervical cancer. So having multiple partners isnt good or natural. People by nature tend to couple in monogomous relationships. Also on your previous argument about "every species has a homosexual population", just because animals do it doesnt mean that it is morally right for people to do this act. We are higher up the evolutionary chain, capaple of knowing right from wrong so this doesnt really apply. So thats not a really good argument.
My opinion is you love who ever you want to love. God will judge us all in the end.

Most people who are against gay marraige are also Christian, so when they express their opinion, it must be understood in that context.
Christianity asserts that God made Adam & Eve, then commanded them to have a family. He set forth guidelines that would increase their happiness and growth.
After a number of generations, a flood and a couple more generations, a man named Lot was visited by angels. The men of his city wanted to "know" them (rape?).
The men of the city were prepared to force Lot to turn over his guests.
God felt that was not appropriate- He challenged Lot to find (ultimately) just ONE other straight man in town.. couldn't find one, so God burned the city...
This tells us Christians something about how God feels about homosexuality in any form. Many of those men were probably married, hence they weren't exactly homosexual- more like bisexual.
Again, this is the reasoning behind why most Christians are against homosexual relations, including marriage.
BTW- my husband wants to thank all the gays out there for removing themselves from the gene pool.

Like this: Are u really going to take care of all these poor kids. You need to be a father, not just a sperm-donor. There's plenty of babies in this world, what they need are good parentsI mean a mother and a father) to take care of them. Isn't there enough single parents out there. Sex is not just for reproduction, it is for pleasure also when it is the relationship with a husband and wife. Nobody else is supposed to have sex! God made us sexual beings. BUT homosexuality is an abonimation to GOD. Thats why homosexuals should not get married.
any other questions?

"nearly every species on the planet has a small homosexual population"
Incorrect.
Same sex and marriage is an oxymoron, the two just simply do not go together. The first marriage was man to woman and defined what the meaning of marriage is, it cannot be changed. It is what it is.
If physiological facts do not convince you then I'm sure informing you that it is a sin won't either.
