+ Saints +
Catholics share the belief in the Communion of Saints with many other Christians, including the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Episcopal Churches.
The Communion of Saints is the belief where all saints are intimately related in the Body of Christ, a family. When you die and go to heaven, you do not leave this family.
Everyone in heaven or on their way to heaven are saints. You, me, my deceased grandmother, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Mother Teresa.
As part of this family, you may ask your family and friends here on earth to pray for you. Or you may also ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Andrew, or your deceased grandmother in heaven to pray for you.
+ More Questions? +
If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.
You can go and ask any questions you want.
This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.
There is no obligation to become a Catholic.
With love and prayers in Christ.

First, sorry about your mother's passing. I am also 37, baptized Catholic. I have struggled for many years with which is the right way to worship. I have been back and forth to the Catholic Church and other christian churches. It is something I've prayed about for answers and for some reason as I've said, I've been led back to the Catholic church, where I am wholly dedicated to now. I can suggest to you that prayer, and research is the best thing, it is something you will feel in your heart (gut) as to where you should be. I want to also suggest the "Catholicism for Dummies" book, it has tons of information, and explains lots of misconceptions, such as "worshipping" Mary (which we do NOT). Jesus is the whole center of the Catholic church and everything we do is based on Him. I also would like to suggest actually going to any Roman Catholic church and asking how you may possibly take classes (RCIA) or talk to someone in the church that can give you the information you are looking for. I hope you find the answers, and grow to know and love the Lord.

right it truly is a few thing so that you could think about. in case your intentions are to come back decrease back, and finished your sacraments (you probably did not element out confirmation), then I see no problem. What you'll pick to come back to words with is what type of a wedding ceremony are you speaking about? A civil marriage? a wedding ceremony in a non-Catholic church? those ought to have some implications. Why? The Church seems at having baptism as a Catholic as a duty. There should be an present surroundings to furnish that child with a Catholic upbringing, because it places on the youngster some primary jobs to fulfill as a Catholic. So it doesn't be doing them a pick in the journey that they were baptized Catholic without chance of help. This also leads into the point of God mum and dad. it isn't any longer only a ingredient one does to honor kin or acquaintances. From the church homes perspective, those God mum and dad ought to also be keen and prepared to help the Catholic nurturing of the youngster. therefore they in many circumstances do no longer let non-Catholics to be God mum and dad. those are everyday suggestions. you'll actual ought to artwork this out with the pastor of the parish you're pondering starting to be a member of. start up by technique of being reconciled. Then receive our Lord in an intimate way by potential of Holy Communion. There you'll locate the skill that you pick on your journey.

Catholics are Christians too. I am not Catholic. I was raised Baptist. Have Attended Apostolic churches too. I say follow your heart. God and God alone is to be worshiped. I agree with you. We have a direct line to him in our minds and hearts. Speak those to Him and ask Him to guide you in finding a place where you are comfortable worshiping. Talk to him just like you would to anyone else.
A caution, don't rely on the place of worship alone to ensure your salvation or even your growth as a Christian. Study the Bible yourself by reading it and also reading concordances. You can get a great Bible study program online that is very user friendly. Visit Valusoft.com. The Deluxe version has 31 bible translations, 12 commentaries, 8 references, 13 maps and 150,000 verse references! It was under $15.00 when I got mine.
The more you study independently, the more you will be able to determine if your place of worship is one where you will be nourished. You'll be able to discuss what you have read with someone who is knowledgable and will take the time. You can start with the Sunday school director, or whomever teaches bible study. Many churches will have an introductory program for new members. Ask if you may attend without joining the congregation. It is at those meetings that you learn the most about the doctrine of that place of worship.
God is pleased that you want to learn about Him and for that purpose He has already imbued you with the Holy Spirit. As you read, your understanding will be guided by this teacher. Simply ask that He open your heart and your understand before you begin your studies.
You can also watch some excellent ministers on television. One I particularly enjoy is Joel Osteen out of Houston, TX. He always gives a wonderful message of hope, love and healing.
God bless you my brother or sister. He already holds you close!

You sound like someone who does not need to join an organized religion, necessarily, as it sounds as if you are looking to find God for yourself.
You may find that reflecting upon creation itself, the simplicity within in its complexity, you will feel respect for the only hard evidence that there even could be a God Creator - nature, and the cosmos. Modern astronomy makes your mind boggle, and the beauty of some of the very distant galaxies is astounding. Take a hike up a mountain and ponder at the view, sail on the ocean, do something and try see God in everything around you.
Don't feel you need a specific religion to find God in YOUR life. Try to find the common threads among many religions and make them part of your personal world view.
If you really love bingo you may want to join a church, though. :)

God is only one.He created the universe and everything and all the laws.He is unique, no one is like him..No one else is worth of worship except the only one God Almighty. He is always with you
whenever u need u caccall him and he helps the way which is best for you but sometimes we dont understand that.
He is the one God, Who has no partner.
Nothing is like Him. He is the Creator, not created, nor a part of His creation.
He is All-Powerful, absolutely Just.
There is no other entity in the entire universe worthy of worship besides Him.
He is First, Last, and Everlasting; He was when nothing was, and will be when nothing else remains.
He is the All-Knowing, and All-Merciful, the Supreme, the Sovereign.
It is only He Who is capable of granting life to anything.
He sent His Messengers (peace be upon them) to guide all of mankind.
He sent Muhammad (pbuh) as the last Prophet and Messenger for all mankind.
His book is the Holy Qur'an, the only authentic revealed book in the world that has been kept without change.
Allah knows what is in our hearts.
FACT: The word "Allah" appears 17 times on the first page of the Bible in Arabic language.

Your dead on. Catholics worship alot of people who are just plain humans. Mary, all the saints, the Pope. None of these people get you to heaven. A priest cannot forgive you of sin - only Christ can. Catholics have many works, such as praying the rosary etc that is unbiblical - again, the bible clearly states when do not gain access by works. I understand we are all Christians. But that is why I am non-denominational. The bible clearly spells out how we are to live - I don't need a club called Baptist, Prebyterian, etc to tell me. I go to a non-denom church. I think the Vatican is corrupt.

Know where you're coming from, I was raised in the catholic chuch, was very involved really. We had a mission in our local catholic church and a team of men & women came. They spoke with love and acceptance, there was something very different about them it was that not only did they know of God, they Knew Him personally through Jesus and had a personal relationship with Him. I've now come to that decison myself and am a believer In Christ and not one day goes by w/o Him being a part of my life. Read the Bible, Psalms is really good and then maybe Johns Gospel, known as a Love letter. God touches our hearts don't get bogged down in shoulds and shouldn'ts, He knows all about you and has an abounding love for you. Try finding out about a Alpha group that maybe running in your area, this are very good tools and don't be afriad. God be with you tonight and I pray he touches your heart.

Catholics only worship God.
Mary is not worshiped. However, she is looked to as a perfect example of following the will of God. She took great chances to have Jesus and accepted God's will for her child.
I strongly suggest you find a local Catholic church with an RCIA or Remembering Church process. go and listen and question - no obligation
