The multinational oil companies are reporting massive increases in profits, since Bush agreed to go along with the massive price increases with Prince Abdullah. BP recently reported a 26 percent rise in annual profits to $16.2 billion according to BBC, because of all the price increases upon consumers. Shell’s profits recently sky rocketed
to $17.5 billion, and Exxon reported a 32 percent increase in profits to $7.6 billion more than last year. Conoco Phillips has also benefitted from the price gouging by reporting a 56 percent increase in profits–an increase of $3 billion.

The Bush Administration’s special relationship with the Saudis, and the oil multinational corporations appears to be benefitting both at the expense of the US consumer. The higher oil prices will adversely effect the trucking industry, travel industry, and consumer products will increase in price, because of inflation.

This was dated almost exactely one year ago! Imagine it now.

What does Bush have to do with the recent gas prices? The oil prices are created by the supply and demand of the economy. Oil prices are so high because the Middle East is the main producer of oil, and right now, they are charging higher prices. Want to know what the US pays per gallon compared with the rest of the world? Look it up. It's relatively cheap compared to the UK which pays around $5 a gallon.

Also, here's a little secret. Many liberals actually like the price of oil to be so high because it causes people to look for alternate means of transportation and supports all of their green efforts. I had a professor who told the whole class that he would rather pay $4.50 a gallon than $2 because it would lead to less pollution. So next time you go fill up and get pissed at seeing high prices, give a little F-U to some of the other political powers who want to raise taxes on gas even more, and I promise that at the heart of matters, you won't find GW.

It's a simple matter of supply and demand! We don't have enough domestic supply so we buy crude oil from the world market. Right now China and many other developing nations are putting a lot of pressure on the world market driving the price of crude up. If you want to give a big F-U to someone, give it to the tree huggers, and those in congress that keep blunting efforts by US industry to increase domestic supplies, both production and refining. The President has nothing to do with it. And while you are at it, blame the public education system for your lack of understanding of economics!

It is funny that we as Americans want to blame everything on the President. Guess he is at the top of the ladder, but is he responsible. I"m sure that he's manipulating the prices of oil on the commodities exchange. I'm sure he order a hurricane named Katrina to slow down the oil refineries and wells in the gulf. He might have started the war in Iraq but I seem to remember that Congress signed off on that one too. Did you know that the majority of the money you pay on a gallon of gasoline is taxes? The last I heard Congress was the body of government that levied taxes and collected them. The last I checked Congress was part of the Legislative branch of government not the Executive branch where the President resides. But hell since he's there let's blame him for all the Tsunamis, let's blame him for the Atlanta Braves not making the playoffs this year and since we can let's blame him for drug addiction, alcoholism, child abuse, teenage pregnancy and swearing.

How many of you write to your Congressmen and State Represenatives. How many of you even vote. You all wanna spend a lotta time complaining but do you take an active roll in government. Unless you vote and write at least 10 emails a year to congressmen or even the President then I don't think you have much of a reason to complain. He's at least trying even if it's wrong, what are you doing.

It's not Bush's fault the gas prices are up. What about supply and demand? What about a 5000 cars per square mile. You think that gets credit?
What about the 600 million cars worldwide?
What about the 203 million cars in the US?
Estimates of 1.2 billion cars in 2030?

Who knows how supply and demand works and wants to smack idiots that ask questions like this?

Amazingly, some of us did actually get an education at college and realize how economics work. If you want to blame somebody, blame the people that block us from drilling for our own oil. Blame people that won't allow any more oil refineries to be built. Here's a secret, it's not Bush, it starts with a "Democ" and ends with "rats".

Its us stupid. We want to drive around in our fancy cars, listen to our fancy radios, and just want to be cool. That is where the problem lay. Bush has nothing to do with it. We pay less than most of the other countries. Is it Bush's fault that a hershey's chocolate bar used to cost a quarter, was a third bigger and tasted better? but now it costs a buck twenty, is smaller and tastes like a waxy piece of crap?

The gas companies, the middle east, the environmentalist who has successfully blocked the building of new refineries and wells - yes. George Bush - no.
