Why do Middle Eastern Muslims allow honor crimes to happen to women?

I don't want to offend anyone on hear I just want to know why do people do this.

It's culture, not religion. These kind of acts existed before Islam was revealed, when paganism ruled the Middle Eastern lands. Many Middle Eastern are not Muslim, and these kind of acts occur. It's culture...

By the way, people get raped in America as well..and the rapist isn't Muslim or Middle Eastern.

Why discriminate just the Muslim's? In your own resource links it details all the different countries and religions that do it, your telling me their all Muslim's??? of course not...

The Muslim's who do this, are not doing this because of their faith in Islam and Allah... not all Muslim's are perfect and good. Islam teaches... shows us the path for goodness and salvation but not all Muslim's follow this path truly, some are led astray... by their traditions and cultures.

You need to look at their intentions, why they do this?? to protect face and reputation in their families and societies... not because it is correct to do in Islam. This is a cultural and a traditional question not anything to do via Islam.

And why do you people go head first without thinking and start disputing the equalities of woman against man, that was not what the question asked...

women are technically not having thier rights of safty any where .i never heard of a nation like america that women there get raped till death sometimes .they have to sleep with thier bosses to keep thier jobs and earn living bec no one take care of the women and thats a part of thier freedom.

they consider that part of their religion. What sense does that make i have no idea but if i was ever to visit one of those countries that had no respect for women they would have another thing coming b/c i would blow up right there in their face and put them in their place. that way they would learn never to mess with another women.
