I feel threatened because I'm not being included-only as an outside observer. We have so far spent time doing things together (tennis, traveling, etc.) He also wants to spend time outside of softball with this same group of people who I don't know (because I'm not on the team) and he is isn't fostering a relationship between us very well. How can I approach him about this without seeming overbearing or controlling? Is it wrong to meet someone and want to do things together? If I don't get on this team and am not satisfied just watching games, how am I going to hang out with these people on the weekends?

Why must everything be 'together'? Why is there always some deep rooted psychological trauma with women when it comes to stuff like this. Christ...will you give the guy a break. he's on another team and they practice. Must you find it necessary to be attached at his hip all the time or find some underlying factor that his actions are damaging the relationship?
Be thankful he doesn't drink to excess, beat you, screw arounbd with other women (or worse...men. how's THAT for a blow to your ego? Bet you won't whine about him whacking a goddamn softball around anymore).

You need to let him have some hobbies that don't include you. If you spend every minute together you will drive each other crazy. Take my word for it, or else you'll find out the hard way.

give the guy some alone time. you should go do something during that time and meet up afterwards for something romantic.
