Where do you get this idea. Please, give me some real examples of how Christians are spreading hatred. I am seriously curious as to how you conclude this.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to give a well thought out answer.

I'm not an atheist, but you can see many examples of 'christians' preaching hatred in the gay/lesbian question section.

If you want some more examples, look at any of the works of Fred Phelps and his "church." If I were you, I wouldn't claim them as Christians.

Most Christians I meet are good people who work for equality, justice, and peace. People who practice homophobia, racism, and other forms of discrimination are anything but 'christian' in their actions. WWJD?

A lot of people say that Christians spread hate because of all of the religion based fighting occurring now. Or maybe some are still stuck on the Crusades.

Some extremely close-minded Christians also often tend to discriminate against people of other faiths or things like homosexuality.

Lets see. In the three decades I have been alive. I have seen a push to make homosexuality illegal by the christians. Then, they just wanted them to be second class citizens and ostracized. Now, they want them to not be able to marry because they are different.

I have seen abortion clinics blown up by people funded by christian organizations, I have seen pregnant women beaten and killed by christians for considering abortion.

I have personally told I am not as good as you because I am atheist.

I have had to respond to the scene of countless domestic violence, child abuse, murder, and rape scenes. The offender was usually christian and hurting others for their non christian ways.

I have yet to see that on any consistent scale from any group. Including racists, muslims, atheists, psycopaths, ANYONE.

I don't have that idea, not for christians as a whole. I have only met a couple who did and I would consider them extremists, and they were extremely intolerant of unbelievers and gays. But that is only an individual case, they belonged to the same "christian society", but again I believe it is the minority and not the majority as is the case with any group of people.

I never heard anyone say that... The only thing I've heard is people saying that Christians nowadays don't teach what Jesus was trying to teach, but the opposite. Like the the Dark Ages, Christians were using the religion to scare people and kill people who weren't of their faith (heretics), so maybe that's where that comes from, but I never heard anyone say that nowadays..

Just stick around a little longer and read some of your fellow christian posts. Consider them from the mind of an atheist, agnostic, muslim, hindu, etc.

Some of those so-called christians are indeed hateful and evil.

Here is a Christian response to an alternative question

" i don't want to hear any of their comments. it is all fake crap, not believing, yeah right! they know that deep down they believe in HIM, or they wouldn't make such a big deal of it. it is just another way for them to rebel against the laws of the land.i am so sick of hearing, oh there is no GOD, oh, i don't believe, blah blah blah. just shut up already and get prepared for Hell. in the end YOU will be on your knees professing that HE is the LORD of LORDs!!"

Let me direct your attention to the part where this Christian tell them to shut up and get prepared for Hell... pertty good example of hatred there.

Because there are many Christians around here that condemn people to Hell in every answer that they give. Just because they say it in a nice way ~ "I'm sorry, you're going to Hell" ~ doesn't make it any less hateful.

not really "hatred" but merely...conflict. by spreading your gospel, you conflict with the views of (random number) 3 billion people (i'm chalking up 3 billion 4 u christians. i don't have actual figures) this creates "hatred" between us. and it just pisses me off how people tell themselves "i'm going to heaven cuz i'm a christian and you're not unless u believe what we do." sry but that's just me.
