I think if he was born there....Hinduism would have accepted him as part of her vast ideas. And worshiped him just like Krishna, Ram or Buddha....because Hindus have a great heart.

That's the problem with monotheism; they just can't accept anything else. Historically, polytheists have been much more open-minded.

I really don't think it matters, because we can't change the past. Jesus is an avator like the others you mentioned. To me, Christ, Buddha, Krishna, etc represent the very best of humanity. Ironically, the teachings of these we look to to unite us are among the greatest sources of contention in the world. Not because of what they did or what they stand for, but because of our limited understanding of the truths they shared with us. Those who take any religion or belief to an extreme do all of humanity a disservice. To repeat what I've said before, it isn't who's right or who's wrong; its who's left!

Jesus was God on earth. His presence would have had a profound effect on society WHEREVER he lived.

Specifically, it's impossible to totally discount his diety when he's personally healed your blindness, leaprosy, or other ailment. And every generation after would be impacted. And people would tend to believe him when He said there is only one God.

So no, if Jesus were born in India, he would not simply have been absorbed into Hindu beliefs.

He wasn't born there. But if He was, then how he was treated would, I guess, depend on what caste He was born into.

I'm sure Hinduism has its good points, but this whole caste-system thing is antithetical to the Christian ideals of equality.

Given that Christ was born in a cave to poor parents, I guess that would have placed Him in a low caste -- in which case He might not have been given the red-carpet treatment that you describe.

Hindus are confused. They have 330 million gods with conflicting views. Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

Well if you read the OT God favored Abraham because he was faithful to him, through Abraham Israel was made. Also they had all these Prophesys about Jesus because they were the most open to God. So Jesus went to Israel.
