well pick 2 or more colors. paint your walls one color then your window trims another color then rearrange your room to look comfortable like a lamp, desk, bean bag seat, things like that. put a scarf over your lamps that match your room. get fun looking pillows and things. candels and whatnot. Most important just have fun with it! Good luck!

The use of color is also something very personal. It stimulates our senses, power our mood, and helps create a particular ambiance. How we respond to an individual color depends on our nature, extroverts tend to feel happy with bold colors, while introverts prefer more passive colors.
Through using specific combinations of color, combined with a careful consideration of simple color schemes is often the most effective.
Try not to use more than one or two principal colors in a room, as well as a contrasting or balancing tone. The best way to choose a background color for the room is to trial with a palette of different shades and tones, in combination with the color and textures of the furniture and materials. Remember the general color schemes of a home have to be in agreement. The walls define the space in a room, while the colors, to a large degree, define the mood.
Colored light, furnishing materials, and structural proportions, we can create a home that is welcoming, helpful, and comfortable. Walls are similar to background music: each color tone is like a musical note can create a pleasant-sounding harmony while others grate with each other.
The color with which we surround ourselves will without doubt have an effect on us, and so it is important to feel comfortable with our choice. A discussion with a professional color consultant can help to decide individual needs and select appropriate color.
Colors can be divided into three main groups: those that stimulate and uplift, those that relax and calm, and those that provide harmony or balance. So, having taken a number of things into thought when decorating a room, such as the size of the space, the amount of light, the function if the room, and the style and mood we wish to create, we finally, and most importantly, need to consider the needs of the people who use it.

I say try autumn colors like red, orange, and brown. Its not tacky or too much and it's sexy at the same time. Find some curtains matching your colors as well as pillows and other accessories. Find a cute little rug and make sure in the day time to open the curtains. By doing that your room will be cute, but in the evening when those curtains close it is very sleek and sexy if you do it right.

Okay, latest trend in painting a room is "chocolate latte" with white moldings to trim the room. Very sexy and classy. The color is neutral and will go with just about anything. Use the link below to see the color by doing the following steps...
http://www.sherwin-williams.com/do_it_yourself/paint_colors/paint_color_palette/
1) Click on "Launch Color Visualizer"
2) Click on "Find a Color,"
3) Click on "Martha Stewart Signature" on the left
4) Enter "latte" under "Quick Search" and click the Search button.
5) Select "Latte 6108"
6) Then on the right you can select "paint a scene with this color" and see what it would look like in a bedroom.
Also, here are a bunch of ideas for bedding to go with the new "latte" look....
http://www.target.com/
1) Click on "Bed and Bath"
2) Page down once
3) Under "Shop Bedding by Color," select "Brown" (Very cool styles and just about all of them would go with the latte color.)

I think you should paint your walls whatever color is your fave! But make it a vibrant color that can expand the room to make it look bigger! Then add fun colors to give the room a stylish look to it! Good luck in your redecorating aspirations and email me back on what you decided!!

First off, how old are you? If you are still living with your parents, I think they should have some decision in what it should look like. Only you can decide what colors and how you want it. Use a search engine and find the websites on your own. It is really easy.

Make your room look like an exotic paradise.
You could put a mural of the ocean on one wall or paint one on yourself. Try this website for wallpaper murals http://www.stamfordmurals.com/ .
You could also use rich colors and Caribbean style furniture and pieces in your room much like they did in this project http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_design_bedroom/article/0,1793,HGTV_3366_2407920,00.html .
It will be calming, trendy, and sexy.
A good place to buy some items may be Pier One.

The tan color sounds nice. Make sure it's a light tan though. Maybe try an off white color or another light color.

Dark shades of red and purple are really sexy and moody. You can add bohemian flair in so many ways; mood lamps, bold pillows, and furniture low to the ground. With rich, velvety materials and dim lighting, the comfortable, sexy look is yours instantly!

Red is a bright, powerful color. Its not childish like the bubble gum pink and such. You can dress it down by decorating in black and white bed linens and hang some funky retro pictures on your walls.
