"You're different from other guys"

What exactly does this mean? I've only dated a little but every girl seems to say this.

I've even asked a few of them what makes me different. None of them gave me a straight answer.
I even joked with one saying "What, is one of my eyes bigger than the other?" - She laughed.

Is it your way of showing interest in a guy?

Yes, I am a girl and I've said that to guys. I think it's a flattering thing to say. Think about it. A girl would've been with other guys before if she tell you that you're different, because she's comparing you to the others.

The fact that the other relationships failed demonstrates that they not satisfactory in some ways. Therefore, if she thinks you're different, that means she sees potential in you. If she thinks you're the same as the other guys, then that means your relationship with her will also fail.

So it's a good thing when a girl tells you that you're different. It probably also means that she has an interest in you.

When girls say "you're different from other guys", it means that you are not moving too quickly for their liking, and that you actually are showing some sensitivity, unlike many guys.

A girl won't straight out say that, though. Yes, it is a way of showing interest in a guy, because we feel that you're unique, whereas the vast majority of guys are jerks (Sorry guys!)

Some would say that every guy is different. But personlay when i say it I mean it in the way of "You treat me better than any other" I me a guy the other week and he was absolutly amazing. A rare find for me. I only know 3 guys I would say that to.

Take it as an extreme complement. Thats what I would do atleast

Usually when a girl says this, and things are going well, it means that she likes you. It means that she doesn't see you as a pervert or someone who just wants to get in her pants. She could see herself being with you for a long time, because you give her something... a feeling or whatever... that no other guy has given her in the past.
If things aren't going well and she says it, then it means that you aren't her type. You don't have what she's looking for.
But we usually say it when things are all good and we like the guy. :)

It really depends on the person. You can't go by all the stereotypes that lump all the sexes into a group. Generally, it is a compliment meaning that you are unique. It is used alot as a general compliment and sometimes has little, if any meaning.

Every guy is different, just like every girl is different. NO ONE is the same, we are all unique from our eyes, hair, physical build, etc. So they are probably just noting this difference in you when they meet you. Appreciate that they notice your individuality, this is actually a compliment. You are not trying to "be the typical guy or just like everyone else".

funny enough, i think it is actually a GOOD thing!!! As girls we like to feel protected, cared for and not threatened. NICE guys tend to do this for us, which (as i'm sure you know) is not what girls typically go for. Sounds like you also get the "no one wants you as a boyfriend, but everyone will want you for a husband" scenario...Whether 'interest' is there, i can not say... that's a toss up, but it's always worth pursuing b/c at least you stand out in her mind!
