Going in a ditch or behind a tree is better then them wetting themselves. This should be a good lesson about using the bathroom before leaving the house. I was a nanny for a 4 year-old girl and we had struggles getting her to use the potty. I finally told her that if she didn't use the potty before we left the house we weren't going, and that worked.

I know you shouldn't talk to strangers. But i would have stopped on the way at someone house and said ^I'm sorry to bother you but my child urgently needs to use your bathroom may he??!!^ And if there are no bathrooms go to and alley lol. But always carry some toilet paper with room for emergencies like that.

I have had several instance where this has happened... Late at night driving down the road.. no store open... had to let her use the ditch then.... and like everyone else has said... WE have all done it atleast once in our lives... The one that made me the most mad was my son was potty training and I was out paying bills, our local telephone company didnt have a public restroom and refused him to use the private one... I blocked him at the car and let him go in the parking lot... I couldnt have made it anywhere else..

when ya gotta go, ya gotta go! I have never had the poo thing with my boys but at some point all 3 of them have peed in a parking lot, park or bush...

Everyone has had to find a convenient bush to take care of business at least once in their lives. There's nothing to feel weird about. I would do just what your friend did, and try to make sure noone was watching my kid relieve himself.

A bush or a tree. If its a girl just let her hold the clothes in front of her and squat.

It's embarrassing for the kid either way. I would ask the 8 year old if he preferred pants or grass. Younger kids, just go where ever you can find privacy.

Been there, done that with my son! Find a tree and hope you have tissues in your purse!! I know some people would frown on this answer, but it is either that or have a nasty mess to clean up later!

The good old pop a squat would be what i'd end up doing. Just make sure you shield them from the public eye.
