Don't go tanning. A lot of these people who go tanning will end up with skin cancer. If you go outside a little and play sports each day you will tan a little anyways. Lot's of light all at once very bad for you. If you tan over time vs. trying to tan in a machine or laying in the sun I think that you might get less freckles also.

You really shouldn't tan at all. Skin cancer is very scary. But if you are going to tan do it gradually. Burning is unhealthy. You should try a self tanner- like dove. Use one of the gradual tanners that you use every day. Regular self tanners turn all orange and streaky but becaue dove has gradual tanners it is more even and natural. Unfortunately if you are set on tanning outdoors it is hard to give a time estimate because burning occurs at different times for different people. If you want to tan without burning try a tanning oil with SPF 15 but try to watch how long you're outside because you will burn even with spf.
I do tan even though it's bad for your skin...etc etc, I used to burn easily but I've figured that gradual tanning is the way to go. start out with with a low amount of time in the sun until you build up a base tan then gradually up the amount of time you are in the sun.

30 minutes with a spf 15 sunscreen will probably do the trick if your skin naturally tans. If you have fair skin like me, then you shouldn't even be in the sun at all that much, especially not to tan because you have a higher risk of getting skin cancer than those with naturally tan skin. (Plus you'll probably burn instead)

You really should not tan. If you are young, and still have great skin. STOP TANNING NOW. I'm in my 40's, and used to bake in the sun. Now I regret it-Fine lines, wrinkles. skin damage from too much sun. Quit now!!

don't tan at all. if you happen to get tan while out and about, fine. but don't do it on purpose. if you want to look like you have a tan, use a tanning lotion or something that is not dangerous to your skin.
