True Vanilla extract (and orange extract and lemon extract, etc...) has a very high concentration of alchohol. It's so concentrated that if you try to drink it straight and get too much, you pretty much start retching immediately. In addition, since alchohol is a poison that destroys your cells, it does large amounts of damage to your throat on the way down and back up.

Vanilla Extract (even high-quality extract) is about 35% alcohol. Yeah, you'd get drunk if you drank enough, but you'd probably get sick, and even if you didn't, it would be a really expensive way to get a buzz!

Vanilla extract is nothing but vodka that vanilla beans have soaked in for a long time, so yes you will definitely get a buzz.

Not as much as it's a stupid thing to do also. there is little alcohol in vanilla extract. However...although it may taste good going down...just wait until the return trip. You'll never eat vanilla ice cream or anything vanilla tasting again.

Pure vanilla extract has a high percentage of alcohol, so yes. Immitation vanilla won't do the same.

High quality vanilla exract does not contain alcohol.
Cheap extract has alcohol but you would have to drink so much of it that you'd make yourself completely sick.
