If you get caught presenting false evidence in court, then you should be expected to be punished. The punishment would depend on the severity of the offense, as well as the circumstances of the trial in which the testimony was offered, and the record of the person committing the offense. They may not be thrown in jail, but I very much doubt that they would get off with a warning unless the offense was extremely minor. It may be that the prosecutor will decline to press charges against the offender, but that isn't a guarantee in any case.
Perjury should be considered a serious matter, as it can often affect the outcome of a trial.

That is called perjury, and can be sentenced to jail time. Another person just answered you and told you to google LIL Kim. and she is right. She lied under oath and she went to jail. So I would suggest you dont do that. Claim the 5th instead. LOL When you claim the 5th, that means you dont have to answer a question that could incriminate you.

If you lie under oath, that is perjury and you can be tried and jailed for it. They usually DON'T give warnings because it is a serious offense.

Perjury (lying under oath) is illegal. Depending on the severity of this, they could be prosecuted and given up to 5 years prison time...this is not something taken lightly.

if the prosecutor can prove to the judge that she committed perjury she'll go to jail. It's hard in cases like this because it's usually a she said he said kind of thing. If you can get recorded statements, letters, or other tangible proof to bring the police or the court that would be the best way to go about it. If you're allowed to speak with tape a phone conversation and get her to admit she lied.
