I agree there are some christians out there that are not true believers but why do people charge all of christianity because of the actions of a few? Thats like saying that all white people are racist or black people are thieves, or that everybody from the middle east are terrorist, which is all untrue. So,Why judge a whole group because of a few people. No bashing,Serious answers on this one.

I think its unfair but they do this mainly because the acts of a few are the ones which make headlines and this gives the innocent good people a bad name even as unfair as that may be. These people are best dealt with and spoken out against by others of their same cultural background , this carries more weight and shows others making these unfair judgments that all of one particular group are not bad just because of the few misguided ones.

That's a good question. The thing is when there are any large groups of people, no matter how great their cause, there are going to be some downright nasty people who always have the effect of giving a bad name to everybody else. I think people are particularly harsh on Christians in this case because the general teachings of Christianity are supposed to be goodness and kindness. What makes me sad is when people reject a faith because some follower of that faith offended them. I don't know how many times I've told people, the doctrine is perfect, the people aren't.

it is unhappy yet authentic. i imagine on your case -- a set of Muslims did a poor ingredient to u.s. on 9/11, and this makes human beings very edgy of the race. If each and each and every of the unexpected some Italians blew up the Capitol and WHite living house the position thousands were killed -- then maximum individuals may be careful of Italians from then on. it truly is a judgmental reaction to terror. On a airplane if I were sitting in the time of from 2 Muslim adult males i'd be extremely fearful. I purely doesn't be in a position to regulate that reaction by using previous. i'm positive there are a form of, many wonderful Muslim human beings contained in the international -- yet today they're centred as suspicious. similar reason maximum individuals may be petrified of walking right into a depressing alley the position some black adult males are purely putting. Society has been ingrained to experience this manner. you're top about one ingredient -- there is sweet and undesirable in each and every individual. I say sorry if I actual have regarded at you two times in passing -- yet even as my organic preserve is up. it is called caution and is a way of protecting your self. it truly is gloomy that this international is done of a lot hatred and intolerance. desire my answer helped you already know this issue somewhat better. Peace to you and your household. Peace to mine...

For the same reason that some Christians stereotype all non-believers or all other religions or sexual orientations - it's easier to lump everyone together than to take the time to truly understand.

It doesn't make either side right. In fact, since some non-believers proclaim they are "free-thinkers" and "more intelligent" than Christians, it probably is worse of them to stereotype and generalise. But, once again - it's just easier than taking time to understand.

Hope you get some good responses on this one!

I'm sorry to tell you this but its not a few. There are few that actually act like Christians are supposed to act. Think of it this way 95% of the US population claim to be Christians. Do you think that 95% of the US population act like Christians? If they did, wouldn't this country be totally different. Surly all the bad things in this country can't be blamed on the less than1% of the population that are Atheist.

Not all christians are bad. Some of them are nice and I have no problem with them. You should just keep in mind that the company you keep reflects badly on you. Sorry if you get lumped in, but these things happen.
My question is why the 'good' christians don't stand up to the 'bad' christians who make your religion look so bad?

Hasty Generalization are usualy made when you have a very small sample size and limited vision of reality. these generalizations are usualy made to serve a preconseived idea.

A person with no alterier motive, or prejedice to prove wont usualy make such a generalization, its usualy people who are trying to protect or propogate a point who act in such a manner

Seriously, it is because of stereotyping, which is really just pattern-finding. I've heard it said that every weakness is somehow a strength abused. A strength of humans is their uncanny ability to find patterns in almost everything. The abuse of it is to grossly generalize. Or to assume that the abuse of a philosophy somehow changes it to accurately reflect that philosophy. As Augustine once said back in the day, "We should never judge a philosophy based on its abuse."

that's something i've never fully understood myself. it irritates me because i've been a victim to some of these things- being black, AND being white, having different beliefs than others...ect. But I think i'm starting to understand why. It's just because people are moronic and always want a simple answer to things. They are lazy and refuse to accept change and that they are hard headed. But what can u do? it's called IMPERFECTION.
