so much of what man went through then and we are going through it now? I mean take for example in 1 Kings 18 the people didn't believe in God and they wanted proof so He did in verse 38. The people questioned Him even then also the men of Sodom wanted to rape the angels for sexual pleasure, which is wrong but we see that today! David got a man killed to take Bathsheba for a wife! It talks about the attitudes we even still deal with today! I mean we are still doing things that may hurt others or as stubborn as they were back then. It just goes to show how man has not changed.

we do these things today what is so different?

The Bible has a lot of truth in it and is worth studying, even if you don't believe in God. (I don't.) Human nature hasn't changed that much in the last few thousands of years, and the Bible is filled with great stories with lots of lessons about human nature. Great literature, like reading Shakespeare is also worth your time for the same reasons.
