I'm not 12-16 ( A bit older then that! ) but I wanted to say YEAH for sticking up for the Church! I have seen so much misleading information on here about us Mormons. I think some people have good intentions and are only repeating what they have been told by others who have no idea what their talking about, but many people on here have just flat out lied!.
But you know what? People sometimes hate what they know nothing about. It's sad, but it really is reality! We know what the Church stands for and believes, and that is what counts. And I believe that anyone who really wants to know about something, rather it's the Mormon Church or anything else for that matter, they should check it out and investigate for their-selves, and not depend on someone else word. I think I would have gone through life missing out on a lot if I would have never looked into stuff on my own.
I'm glad I saw your post on here. I can tell you're proud of the Church and that your proud of being Mormon. I feel the same!!!

Wow, screw us huh? That's real enlightened. You speak to your church members like that?
But for your information, the Mormon church is an apostate church. Joesph Smith is NOT a prophet, and the "Book of Mormon is NOT the word of God. Nor are the "Pearl of Great Price" or the "Doctrine and Covenants."
Your church teaches that God the Father, his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct personages, whereas the Christian church teaches the Holy Trinity.
You hold up Joesph Smith as the "Restorer of your Gospel," yet Joseph Smith insisted that he had been required by God to follow the practice of plural marriage. If he could be wrong about THAT, why is he RIGHT about the rest of his teachings?
Also, Joseph Smith and other church leaders have taught that God the Father is an exalted man who once lived mortally, like His Son Jesus Christ.
Latter-day Saint theology also allows for the existence of a Heavenly Mother.
Mormon theology refers to God the Father as Elohim. The God of the Old Testament is considered to be a different being; he is referred to as Jehovah or Yahweh and is considered to be pre-earth identity of Jesus Christ.
The Church teaches that after judgment, there are three main kingdoms to which men may be assigned: the Celestial Kingdom, the Terrestrial Kingdom, and the Telestial Kingdom.
There are a ton of additional examples I could give, but these will suffice. BTW, I don't think you're freaks, just misguided....

I'm not Mormon & I'm not a teenager, but I will answer. I know LDS people who are not "freaks". I know very nice people who practice Mormonism. They are married to only one spouse, have children, work & pay mortgages just like I do. Their children play on my son’s soccer team. The issue is not that Mormons are freaks. My only conflict with Mormonism is that you represent yourselves as Christians and you are not. Nothing displays this as clearly as the current TV commercial where the woman says she has a special relationship with Christ, but not through the Bible – through the Book of Mormon.
But the Book of Mormon is nothing more than a creation of Joseph Smith. I am convinced that he created the copper plates that LDS is based on, and he sold it to a group of people who were earnestly seeking. The problem is tha the doctrine is filled with lies:
1)God is not an alien who came from space. God just is. He is Almighty and has always aexisted. He was not the son of another alien and He is not fallible
2) Jesus & Satan are not brothers. They are polar opposites and Satan’s biggest problem with Jesus is that he believs he deserves Jesus’ place. But his pride tripped him up & he sinned. When his ambition made him try to overthrow God he was banished from Heaven.
Because of these lies and others that Smith etched onto those copper plates is no different from the Moonies, the Hari Krishnas or any other cult. You can like it or not, but I speak the truth in love. You are too young to understand that your religion is lies and brainwashing. Please go to this Web site & find the real answers:

Hey, trust me I know what your thinkin too. I converted a little over a year ago, I did many bad things before I joined the church. It's done a lot to change my life for the better.
When I first converted I had many of my friends turn their backs on me for just the fact that I was going to the church and not doing the bad stuff I had been doing for so long. I changed my actions so fast and so quickly that it astounded people. I guess people are just scared of and have anger towards things that they don't understand.
By the way... I'm still kind of unsure of what the three kingdoms are :) Just remember this though, you'll probably hear people say that type of stuff for a good portion of your life. People will look at you weird, they'll say stuff to you about it a lot. I can't count how many times I've been asked about how Mormons have 5 wives and all that. When they say it, set them straight.
I am proud to be what I am, I love the fact that all of this stuff was provided for us.
I'll be the first to say I'm not perfect... not by a long shot. I still will have a beer or two when I'm over at one of my buddies houses. There are still certain things I can't live without... even though I still try to better myself on a daily basis.
I won't get into my story here but for all the bad stuff I had done, this is a drastic change to what I was becoming and what I have become.
I wish you the best of luck and the uttermost patience within yourself.
Add in - Let me state this... Not all LDS people are pushy or even going to say a word to you about it.
I used to date girls that were in the church and I absolutely HATED when them or their parents tried to get me to go or even would talk to me about it, I had a resentment about it because I had views like all of you do. How it's a cult, Joseph Smith was a fake, etc. But I think to each their own. You think it's a cult, go ahead. No one is stopping you from your views but at least have an open mind and if you don't know about it (and I mean truely know exactly what your saying is a lie) there's no need for you to even comment about it since your ignorant to the facts of what the religion truely is.
Most of the people that are in the church you would never know they were until they told you. They don't go around riding bikes in their suits with their LDS badges on lol. They are normal people, just like you and I that live a normal life but strive to keep themselves clean of certain things and strive to better themselves and become closer to God.
I'll close with this. Even if I didn't believe in it, even when I did not believe I couldn't hide one thing about this that actually convinced me. Everytime I EVER went in the church and to this day, I get an amazing feeling in the pit of my soul that I truely know that this is the church. It's like I know inside of me that it's true and it exists. I'll know for the rest of eternity that I made the right choice for my soul.

You know, people don't get down on the mormons, not anymore than any other religion. The Catholics are child molesters, Muslims are terrorists, Hindus worship cows and elephants, Buddhists are bald head monks, Mormons are adulterers, etc. Ofcourse it is not true. You may notice the Mormon issue more, because you are a Mormon. Do you think Muslims go, "Those poor Mormons are getting a bad wrap." LOL. Let it go. People hate and fear what they do not understand. It's human nature. I hope that makes you feel better.

You just said you were nice and then said, "screw you." Not the nicest way to demonstrate that you're nice.
That said, any question I've seen here at Yahoo! Answers about Mormons has shown that the bulk of the people here think most Mormons are nice people generally. However, there are some beliefs that many find odd. That doesn't mean people hate you. A lot of people think my beliefs are odd too (a Calvinist), but I don't think they hate me. Disagreement does not equal hate.

I dont think of Mormons as freaks, but you gotta admit, the new HBO show BIG LOVE doesnt portray you all in a very positive light.
I realize that all mormons are not bigamist or polygamists. Also, every religion is bashed on from the beginning of time. I think the bst thing for you to do is to just be proud of who you are and be an outstanding citizen. You sound young, so be careful of the peer pressures and stick to your values. Dont let others attempt to change who you are!
Be Sweet!

"i love my religion and if you're not ok with that screw you" Wow. Now that's a convincing attitude.
"you dont even know wut the three kingdoms r. wow" But I do know. They are the celestial, the telestial, and the terrestrial. And many wives was not 100 years ago. There are over 30,000 polygamous marriages in Utah alone today, all derivatives of Joseph Smith's teachings. Sorry.

Maybe people are leery of you because many of you, not all, are extremely jugemental and so arrogant that you feel the need to baptize dead people who have no choice in the matter. How many other churches do you know of that "seal" their areas of worship and only let "worthy people in? That is hardly a Christian attitude. While most Mormons do not have several wives, there are several branches of your church that do. They make the news quite often.

Mormon's can't teach what they do and still consider themselves a Christian religion. it doesn't line up with biblical teachings or the ancient Jewish texts about messiah. even the Christian faith doesn't line up perfectly in the eyes of the Jewish faith. it's all persepctive. but when God declares this my word, do not add or subtract from it and you go off make a whole new book and say that it must be accepted as truth, then you've just added to the word of God.
and no, you're not freaks. you ARE the nicest people i've ever met. however, you nee to give equal time in teaching and preaching if you're going to truly win people to your ideals and religion. one of the main reasons you get rejected is because you can share your faith with me, but i am not allowed to share mine with you. you'll learn this before you go on your two year mission.
