Not even the Archangel Michael said a slanderous remark against satan. Finding Jesus is a calling, and a gift of the Holy Spirit, and regardless of what you say people will always have their own opinion. The weapons of our warfare are not of this world. It is the way we live our lives, and our actions that people witness, not how we can try to win an argument. Instead of trying to convince somebody, with senseless quarrels, why don't we pray for them?

ambassador....You obviously didn't truly understand my question, and took it way out of context.

I also wanted to add... This question had nothing to do with being against spreading the Good News. That is our duty as Christians, especially to those who have questions. It's about the negativity of scripture lashing, quarreling, judging, and not being respectful of what others have "free will" to believe. God is a gentle God, not a pushy God. He is to call upon us. Not man, who will try to push a false calling upon us, it doesn’t work that way. Get to KNOW God, and NOT about God, and you’ll have a different relationship with Him. Knowing Him, and knowing about Him are entirely different from one another. Non believers can know about God, and never know what it is to feel Him.

I do pray for them regularly.
But I am also "ready to give an answer to those who ask" 1 Peter 3:15. There are some people who ask serious question here, like you. And deserve a serious answer.
There are also people who don't know the facts of the Bible and the Christian faith, and can be easily swayed by some of the attacks on this site. If somebody is out there saying the Bible has been proven false, it was changed by the catholics 300 years later, its not reliable, its a translation of a translation of a translation and other nonsense, that we need to give a respectful, thoughful response.
(But you are right that too many of the conversations turn into name calling, bickering, etc. And we as Christian need to be more careful about that.)
Thank you for your honest, thoughful, and concerned question. We need more like that...and more of us Christians praying!!

You are so right, arguments profit nothing. But the bible tells us to "have for every man an answer, for the hope that is within you" (1Peter 3:15). When I come across good questions about Jesus, about God, about the bible, I want to answer the person from God's word. His word is living and active, and never returns void.
And you're correct again, the fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much!

I don't believe we should be argumentative with them, but I do believe in spreading the truth about Jesus. Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel is our commission as Christians. This forum is excellent in answering peoples questions. I do pray for people here, and ask the Lord to bear fruit from what I and others write.
God Bless You.

all of Jesus teaching were under the old law ten commandments. but Jesus ushered in a new covenant at his death on the cross, a will only goes into effect when the one who made it is proven dead, Jesus died on a cross two thousands years ago to take away the sins of the whole world never to see them again, Jesus also ushered in a new covenant at his death on the cross (hebrews 10:16,18. this is where we as christians live today under the new covenant and we live in the new testament, Jesus fulfilled the old law by walking in perfect love all the way to the cross and love was the fulfillment of the old law. but the lost are still under the old law. if you have a will when will it go into effect. a testament, a old testament, a will, a old will, a law, a old law these are all the same in God eyes.

It's nice to see someone thinking rationally and not turning to fanaticism! I commend your way of thinking! As a Buddhist, that is pretty much the way we try to conduct our lives. Only by striving for our own enlightenment can we learn to cut through the illusions that trap us with false desires and attachments . It's through this practice that we learn the power of compassion for others.

Because they do.
I see it this way: God gets who he wants, when he wants them. If my words are going to get you to find God, he will give me those words.
We're human and humans think that they can ALWAYS change someone else with words. Far from true.
I pray for people to find God. Who knows, some people won't find God until they are going off the face of this earth. Who are we to say that that wasn't God's plan.
I pray for them.

People need to be taught about all faith's,plain and simple!Like the old saying "The more you learn, the more you know."Then, after they learn of all faith's then they can make they own mind up.But, you could get a brick wall to understand that before you'll get people to learn of all faith's.

I think people tend to defend their faith, rather than Jesus Christ, Himself. People, in general, want others to believe what they believe and when it is something as personal as religious belief, then it becomes something much more valuable to an individual, and therefore, worth defending.
